Orange tip your replica with an ear plug
I bought one of Russ' Webley WG and ended up drilling the barrel out to look more realistic.
I use ear plugs because my wife snores. I bought this pack of purple & orange mix.
I was holding my gun the other day and realized the ear plugs on my night stand looked pretty close to the orange they use to tip the gun barrels. This brand of plugs is a very BRIGHT fluorescent color, more so than others.
I stuck it in and it fits pretty snug when the foam plug expands to fit. Now I have an awesome way to temporarily plug my gun when needed.

Great idea! Plus, it cuts down on the volume of a snoring gun!

Of course, you realize that criminals have done that for years with REAL guns. No sweat Officer, it's a non-working replica... see!"

Brilliant idea for replica photographs that won't raise too many questions if seen by prying eyes.

I did that a few years back for the opening night of CS. Set up my real Webley WG with the orange tip and rounds so it would look "safer" in public.

With some of the crazy and stupid laws on the books, we all are criminals at some time or another!!

That also depends on where you're standing at any given time too.

Well with the right combination of laws, I'm sure it's illegal to breathe in certain places. Especially here in Cali....

Yeah you probably didn't look like too much of a threat while carrying that much lipstick around.Indiana Bond wrote:I did that a few years back for the opening night of CS. Set up my real Webley WG with the orange tip and rounds so it would look "safer" in public.
Re: Orange tip your replica with an ear plug
I've been using earplugs to put orange tips on my replicas so I can sell them on Ebay for years. They've gotten wise to it lately though and keep taking my auctions down because they see the earplug. Part of the reason I stopped selling finished replicas.

Exactly. Come on over to Nevada. They don't care if you walk down the street with a ninja sword and an AR-15 strapped to your back as long as it's visible. But you can't have a 3.5" knife in your pocket.Michaelson wrote:That also depends on where you're standing at any given time too.
I was just in Big 5 dropping off a holster to a client who works there and the guy in front of me in line was wearing 2 pearl handled 1911s on his belt. He looked to be about 70 years old. I gave him my card.
