Temple of Doom jacket observation
I started watching Temple of Doom tonight and noticed something unusual. In the scene where the gang is on Lao Che's plane, Willie makes Indy get up after the pilots bail out, he turns around, and.......the bottom of his jacket seems to have ripples in the leather, indicating the elastic band that you would find on some bomber jackets. I noticed that they pop up again when Indy first gets on the elephant and he turns around to yell at Willie. Anyway, I found this pretty unusual, and since I hadn't read anything about it I thought I'd share my thoughts. If it's already been discussed, I apologize. If not, maybe someone can get some screenshots of the particular scenes since I don't have the software.

I just poped the DVD in to watch the 2 scenes you were talking about, and I honostly don't believe it is an elastic band. I think it is just creases in the leather,
OR
it could be one of those non Wested pieces of @#$% they had made for the film. They may have had elastic in them, removed it, and ironed most of the creases out. That's a possibility.

All right, I dug up a post a made a while back just to show everyone what I was looking at. I finally got screen grab software, so here's a shot of the strange jacket I saw. It only appears in a couple of scenes, and it just looks like this jacket was made differently than the others. I don't think it's elastic like I originally did, but it's just different than all the other jackets. Does anyone have a jacket that's done this at the bottom? Anyway, here's the pic, for what it's worth.

thanks for the encouragement Langpuss, I hoped I'd eventually prove to everyone I wasn't just imagining things, at least this timeLangpuss wrote:Good on you for hanging in with this! It does look pretty weird - probably a non Wested.

No kidding, that's the perfect quote for this site. You should have heard their reactions when I said I put sandpaper and acetone on my Wested.
