Just to lend a machetes to my intellectual thicket (to paraphrase Jack Sparrow), I know Neil made one hero jacket in calfskin. Did he make the second in lamb? :TOH:

Neil said he made his out of calf, Peter said he made his out of lamb. They seemed adamant about that. Therefore, it shouldn't be a stretch to think that most of the "hero screen time" is seen by the lamb jacket, with the Imam and Hawaii scenes belonging to the calf jacket. Of course, this is only theory. They look so similar anyways, there shouldn't be a difference to our eyes.

I seriously doubt it's rope. ... But if we look at it long enough,

It could be

Ok, I'm with you now.
And I am not contributing anything new, I am just trying to straighten this out in my own mind. Memory does not always serve

So, if I have this right, Neil made 2 jackets for Raiders, both out of calf. And Sarge is offering a Raiders Neil Cooper in calf and in striated lamb. And I think he's offering the lamb, not because Neil used it originally, but because stunt jackets were lamb (from Peter) and because the calf hero jackets sometimes looked "lamby".

(Sarge and others can chime in if I've lost my way here)

Anyway, I think that's great! To each their own.

Here are my thoughts.. Some Fans want Calf and some Fans want Striated Lamb !My feeling is why not offer both! The Bottom line for US Wings is that I love the Hobby and will walk the extra mile to offer the best quality and price for all the Fans and Honestly think Neil Cooper not only did he make the Raiders Jacket but was doing business with George Lucas for a very long time.. I know of no other person But Neil Cooper can Call George Lucas and get right through and as a business man that to me is the bottom line cut and dry! With that said I was going to form a board with some Fans on the Board to give advise about future Indy Jackets i 123and 4 and after Neil and I talking about that in detail Neil and I made the decision that He and and I will not have any outside advice. We will offer all Four Jackets as close to spec as Neil Cooper and US Wings Inc. can make.. again spec quality and price is the bottom line.

I think that is why so many of us who have been long in this hobby are excited, Sarge.

Thank you that means a lot to me!! With that said I had thought some weeks back it would have been a good idea to form a Board to ask advice from the Fans.... WOW was I wrong.. Neil Has the Patterns.. I know a little about Marketing and The internet and last but not least making Leather Jackets!! and wanted to share my excitement of Talking Neil Cooper into doing me a Favor and helping US Wings make all Four Indy Jackets... Next thing I knew I had people telling me how to make Jackets..I was not aware I had so many Partners.
No Board No Advice.

Not that you need my "blessing" or anything, but I really think this is the way to go. Neil has the patterns, you have the facilities, and you both have more than your fair share of knowledge with jackets. This way there will be no doubt as to the authenticity of the offering (and I know you want 100% stitch for stitch authentic on these). :TOH:

Honestly, I think it's kind of... well, fantastic news that you'll be going completely by the original pattern, with no fan input. I'm pretty excited to see the result. Almost as excited as I am to get the naked cow Hero. \:D/

Sometimes I wonder why don't we just let the professionals do their work and be amazed at what Sarge and Neil Cooper bring to us? Now I am all for input and advice but now is a good time I think to just wait and see. But also, let us talk like kids about it. "I wonder if it's going to have action pleats in the lining like the Expedition?" or "I hope it has sliders and not d-rings." or "I hope it has a compass in the stock and this thing that tells time... "
Let's have a good time while waiting! I am patiently waiting like 6 yr old for Christmas for the jackets to come out. Anyone have a time acceleration device?

Hi all -- I have been on extended travel. I come back on the verge of buying a US Wings goat that is on sale only to read all these great posts about the US Wings-Cooper offering in the Fall. What's a guy to do!? ](*,)

Buy both. But if only buying one, get the Cooper while you can at a great price and who knows how many will be made. Probably a once in a lifetime opportunity.
