I'm sure just adding to, Gringo...goatskin is one of the best leathers in the world for longevity of the garment under harsh conditions...I wouldn't think the Navy would be axing the goat....

Thanks Sarge. Will do! Yeah, I always had an affection for the G-1(just call it that). I had the WWII Air Transport coat for along time. That is why I fell for goat. Anyways. Navy is now goat and cow hides. I know they did cow a few decades ago. Just wondering if they will be mil issue again and I will get back on topic. Cheers

Holt, that just looks fantastic! I'm glad we finallly get to see the entire hat as well! I know that the pattern differs in some details from the film jackets, but to me, this one, the Hero jacket, takes the best of all of them, rolls it into one jacket that is all it's own, yet so completely Indy it would absolutely look the part in any of the films. My Favorite jacket, hands down!

For sure Weston.. I took a 1985 Indy Pattern Neil Cooper gave me and made a little change here and there and you have a USW Hero Naked Cow Indy Jacket... It really brings out my personality and Weston You look like you can take on anything that comes your way.Oh BTW The Cooper Family has a long tradition of making superbly functional and distinctive leather jackets in the finest quality from 1917 Neil Cooper's Grandfather founded the business and is known the world over as the best of the best.

I need to stop looking at this thread. I am too excited to get my long size cow Hero (hopefully) next week...!

Sure it's gonna be 90ish degrees every day for the foreseeable future, but from what I hear, it'll make a heckuva leather-scented air freshener for my bedroom.

I called up before and seems like they won't ship till the end of next week. :(

And guess I'll have to turn the AC down.

JC that would be a good idea! My wife has wanted an Indy jacket for herself for quite some time. US Wings has an extra small size coming soon in the Hero collection which may fit.

Okay... Yes we are making Our Indy Hero Cow in a more trim pattern and yes we will also offer them for the Female Fans.. 60 days out.. same size as our WASP A-2 34 Reg. on up to 52 Reg.No longs in the WASP cut.
One week from this wed. we will release 100 more Indy Hero Cow with and without snaps plus some longs...the 3rd week of Aug. we will release a very vew Indy Hero Lightweight Lamb.. Indy Hero Cow 146 without snaps Reg. and Longs 127 Without snaps and size XS Reg and small Reg and Med. Reg. all without snaps... This leather is very hard to get and they are hand aged .. one jacket at a time.. No two jackets are the same.... There is a major demand for both of these jackets.

Having been made aware by M in another thread that perhaps I (and others) should be more active in the subjects we care about, I wanted to give a shout to those that have posted pictures! The jackets look great on everyone. Your pictures and posts with measurements have helped me in my decision. They've also led me to have several nice chats with Sarge by phone and email. They even resulted in Sarge making longs, for which I thank him. I may also have to wait for the Larges with longer sleeves to come in. Now I'm just patiently awaiting the longs so I can get measurements from Myke.

Again, my thanks to all and most of all Sarge and USW!

Highest regards,
Riothamus

Sarge has also been nice enough to make some without snaps for those of us who don't prefer them on our jackets. I'm waiting patiently for mine, but will post pics when I have it! ;)

I have to say that I can't decide on snaps or no snaps, of course it may not be an option on the forthcoming Neil Cooper jackets ( ). I see the functionality of snaps, but I like the uninterrupted flow of leather on a Raiders (of the snaps that Sarge choose for the Hero line are as good as it gets they look good, very, very good). And I think I just contradicted myself, but I hope someone kind of gets what I WANT to say... What about something like a hook and eye closure ( heavy duty one of course) or something magnetic?

Hook and eye, like on an A-2? That would be interesting as you could hide the hook and eye a bit better and so get the look of no snaps - like in the Raiders movie - but have the functionality of a snap with the hook and eye. Another idea would be to hide the snap under the leather so only the other part - that the snap snapped onto - was exposed.

COW member "Rick Deckard", here are examples of the "hidden" snap idea you stated. This is from one of my old Cooper/Disney jackets.

The hidden snaps are a LOT easier to use, that's for sure, but the real downside to them is they're a bear to get fixed if they fail.

WOW.. You sure did your home work! What a great picture.. But after speaking with Neil about that snap he told me he had major problems with them and always exchangeing them.. With US Wings if any customer ever has a problem with our Jackets all it takes is a FREE phone call and we will send out a pick up from UPS and in our written policy we even say that if you don't have UPS just send it back and we will pay for standard shipping up to $ 10.00 meaning we do walk the extra mile.. 99.9% of our customers feel as we do and underestand... Now and then you will get some off the wall customers.
