I know this has probably been addressed somewhere (sorry if I've missed it).
My question is are the Alden J Crew and the new 403's the same boot?
They sure look the same. Any info is greatly appreciated.

The jcrews have different heel stitching- they are not distressed though. They are very cool boots. Expensive but cool

The J Crew's are tempting, but I've decided to wait until my local Alden shop (SF) calls me and tells me that their 403's are in, which should be next month sometime. From what I can see online, I'd rather have the 403's. They seem more like the 405, with a different number (but the right color), whereas the J Crew's seem really like a different pair of boots, even if it's only the stitching that's noticeably different.
