MBA or not MBA

Post by PETER »

Let me tell you a story.
MBA under the leadership of Noel Howard was entitled to sell the shirt and trousers as he was involved in the production as an employee of the then Bermans and Nathan.
Bermans and Nathan have subsequently become Angels and Berman and now Angels the Costumiers.
When Bermans and Nathan was sold to Angels Noel left to form MBA but had recently run into financtial problems and had to close. However he was able to sell the business and premises to Hand and Lock a long established embroiderers.
So the situation is now that although they intend to sell the shirt and pants they have had nothing to do with the original film production and have no more rights to replicate than the likes of flighsuits or USwings.
The irony is that their xmas card sent to me has Indiana Jones on it with the claim that they made the costume and leatherwork.
Now out respect to Noel I have not produced the shirt or pants but it seems that he has sold that with ther company so I am free to act accordfingly.
I will be producing the the shirt at an estimated £35-£40 and the pants at an estimate £65-£70. in the new year with the approval of the original company Bermans and Nathan now Angels.
So to bore you
Cheers
Peter

I know what you said Michaelson but there is a thing here called
protocol and ethics, its a thing us silly Brits worry about.
Anyway the field is now clear and I am up for it.

Since Peter is in the UK, perhaps saying he's "knocked it for 6" would be more appropriate?

My new New Year's Resolution is to send a large chunk of money to the UK, addressed to Wested. I don't think I'll fail on this one! :D

Best,

We try to practice the same things in the U.S., Peter. You are indeed a fine example of how to do both. Regards. Michaelson

That's great news Peter! I think everyone, including Noel would rather have someone reliable who also was involved with the films. Not just someone who might have a copy of the patterns.

What really bothers me is the fact that they are passing the items off as if they originally produced them. Costume design and production is an art form and as an artist I am disgusted with the mentality of the new M.B.A.

Keep up the outstanding work,

Rob

I was hoping to one day get another pair of Raiders pants, so now not only do I have to send Wested the $$ for a Raiders Lambskin, but pants too! gee, it's gunna be a costly New year.

One the flip side, I think that Peter will find that with our insurmountable admiration and respect for his products and service, he will have yet another lucrative part of his business that we will all support happily and whole-heartedly.

good on ya, mate!

I just calculated the cost in US dollars and it's about $53 for a shirt, and $100 for a pair of pants! Bravo, Peter, not only are you making a reproduction, but you're making them at a cheaper price than Noel did! :junior: -IJ

This is indeed good news, Peter. I do have to wonder, though. Will you be as detail oriented as with your jackets? I know there were some that found fault with how MBA produced the shirts, i.e.: single stiching, the epulet not correctly placed, etc.

But before we diluge you with too many requests, we should all sit back and revel in the moment. This is indeed great news!

Amazing...just amazing. Peter, am I to understand that Noel will have some input on this project, perhaps more than just giving his blessing?

Also, I suppose Wested will now be the one-stop shop for the costumers of Indy IV, eh?

Hey All RIGHT!!!

Now Peter, oh where are my manners, SIR Peter if we could only talk you into making a Wested version of the Mk VII bag that would be great! Not only for us GearHeads but anyone looking for a good quality day bag. I know of a few people around here that would love a Leather version of a Mk VII.

OK...I will be satisfied for now, cant wait to get the rest of my stuff straight from your High Quality factory! SO.... From all of US to YOU.

LONG LIVE SIR PETER!!!!!!

England has a King now?

sigh...I have got to keep up with current events.

So, is the new King of England a lush and is the Queen even aware he exists? Will Tony Blair irritate him? Is His Majesty a Doctor Who fan, or does he prefer old reruns of Dangermouse?

Finally, and most importantly, will His Majesty bring spats back into fashion?

Since I never got a shirt or trousers from Noel, I'm more pleased to be able to get them from Peter. He did a fantastic job with my jacket, so I can't wait to get a shirt/trouser set from him.
