My new Indy jacket.
I got this last week as an "early" Christmas gift. I'm just now getting around to having the spare time to post a few "test shots" here I took of me wearing it.
Encase you're wondering this is a US Wings in vintage cowhide. I normally go for the dark brown Indy jackets but once I got this in the mail and got to see the color in person I was won over and I really love the color of it. Reminds me a lot of the leather jackets they used to sell back in the 80's when I was a kid.
I've never owned a US Wings jacket before and I'm VERY impressed by the weight, drape and quailty of this jacket. I've heard people kinda "gripe" about Wings jackets being a bit to bulky or "heavy" and I think the weight of this particular jacket is perfect. It's not light enough that it makes me feel like I'm wearing a windbreaker but at the same time it's not to heavy either. Basically, it's a pefect balance. On top of that the jacket feels like it was custom made for me.
This is simply one of the coolest Christmas gifts I've gotten in a looong time.
Merry Christmas, everyone.

Looks good Harry, and it's a nice length on you from the front (can't really see the back)
The pockets look smaller than Wings usual, looks good.

Nice looking jacket! I know a lot of people talk about the fit or SAness of the Wings jacket, but, if you're lucky to be able to wear OTR sizes well (as I am), I don't think you can beat a Wings jacket for the price. It has the look (for everyone but us crazies anyway ) and the quality for a great price.
What brand is the fedora by the way?

Re: My new Indy jacket.
I've always been very lucky when it comes to the "off the rack" sizes fitting me close to a custom made jacket.
I'm ashamed to admit I've always kinda "looked over" the Wings jackets when it came to choosing a brand of Indy jacket to buy. When I first started here Wested seem to dominate a lot of the jacket discussions, then G&B and now Tony's jackets.
Now that I own a Wings jacket I can see first hand how nice they are and I'm more than happy to pass on a good word about them because I think they deserve more attention.
The hat is an AB Rabbit from Steve's original run. Thanks to a donation by Texan Scott I'm still able to have it sitting on top of my head.

If it had snaps it would do a perfect CS. The leather looks fantastic

GREAT looking Jacket! I just bought both my grandsons Kids Wings jackets and the quality is outstanding. They are built rock solid.
If you want to talk about a HEAVY jacket you should try on my Nowak CS. I love a heavy jacket though, makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.

Yeah, the color and leather definitely fit the CS look quite well. To be honest up until I got this jacket I wasn't a fan of how that jacket looked in the film. Now that I've seen this particular color in person I really think it "fits" the character better. This jacket looks like it's been worn for years and I can't get over how soft this cowhide is. I've owned a Wested Goat, a Standard Todds Indy jacket and a G&B and this jacket out of all of them feels like a second skin.

I'd compare this Wings jacket to the way leather jackets used to look a feel back in the 80's. When I put it on for the first time I could just feel that this thing could take a beating IF I were to get "rough" with it. My G&B lamb was tough too but it was considerably lighter in weight and kinda felt like I was wearing a windbreaker. I loved the jacket but the weight on the Wings is what I consider a leather jacket should feel like when you put it on...
I think this jacket is perfect for wearing almost all year round. I say "almost" because I'm not sure if I could stand around with this on in 90 degree weather.

Thanks, RC.
I added a third shot that I had taken where you can kinda see the back side a little bit better. The length of the jacket both front and back are perfect for me. Of course the gray Henley I'm wearing is a bit long so that might throw off people looking at it thinking it might be a little short.
I have to say this is the FIRST Indy jacket I've owned that doesn't "ride up" on me when I sit down.

Great Jacket! I really do think the Wings jacket works extremely well as a CS jacket. Are you going to add snaps to the storm flap? I've been thinking about doing that to my Wings goat, but haven't committed to it yet.

Looks great mate! Those Wings jackets are fantastic and if Harrison had worn one in the last IJ film, we'd all be obsessed with them.

Great one!

My compliments, very handsome jacket. I just received (on Dec 18), a US Wings VIP Indy jacket, will post photos and a review soon, lets just say I agree with your comments and am very pleased with mine as well.

I agree. It's a great looking jacket and it looks good on you too. Do you plan to do any of your action pics with it?

Re: My new Indy jacket.
I bought the same jacket last summer and love it. The color, fit, look, feel and texture is outstanding. They were able to give it a real antiqued look I have never seen in another jacket. No doubt, my favorite Indy jacket and one I'll keep forever.

Congrats, Harry... that's a BEAUTIFUL jacket (and it looks GREAT on ya!)
And I know I'm stating the obvious... but that lid looks amazing (as usual) on top of your noggin... exactly where it belongs.

Re: My new Indy jacket.
Fantastic jacket. I recently ordered a US Wings Vintage too and love it. I owned a custom Wested Horsehide as well as an off-the-rack Lamb and the US Wings fits much better than either of the Westeds did. And the Vintage Cowhide just looks rich.
Re: My new Indy jacket.
That US Wings Indy is very nice indeed!! If only I came close to being able to buy OTR, I'd pick one up. It looks to be pretty nice quality too. Quality-wise how do you feel it compares to the other brands?

Re: My new Indy jacket.
Hey, everyone...
Thanks for taking the time to pop in and check out my new Christmas gift. I really feel honored to own this jacket.
Not only have I been getting compliments on it online I've also been getting them offline as well. Some of it has to do with how well it fits me but it's also the hide and the color as well. I really don't see to many leather jackets being worn around out in public that have the "worn in" look this jacket has. It's something that a lot of the leather jackets used to have back when I was a kid and the "bomber jackets" were all the craze. I think this is really what catches peoples eyes and probably makes some of them feel a little nostalgic.
Yes, at some point in the "not to distant future" I plan on continuing taking "action shots" as Indy wearing this jacket. Naturally, I probably won't shoot any until I get another bullwhip since I sold the Joe Strain.
I don't plan on doing any "mods" to this jacket at all, I'm going to keep it "as is". Now if the jacket would have come with snaps on the jacket that would have been fine but I don't feel any need to add any to it.
The quality of this jacket and the hide are TOP NOTCH! I haven't owned it long enough to determine how well it's going to hold up down the road but to me it looks just as well made as the G&B jackets. I know some of you don't like the bit of "extra weight" that the Wings jackets seem to "have" but for me the jacket is the perfect weight. Not to light and to to heavy. When I put it on I don't feel like I have to "be careful" with it.
If your not into having everything "exactly" like it was in the movie and you're looking for a darn good well made Indy jacket made here in the USA that reasonably priced then just get a Wings. I'm ashamed to admit that I have overlooked these jackets in the past and I think a lot of others have too.
A tip of the and a to the folks at US Wings. Job well done!
By the way, have a safe and Merry Christmas everyone.

Re: My new Indy jacket.
I've got the same jacket, and I really like mine. It's a great jacket for cold weather, too, which was my first requirement in looking for a good Indy jacket. It might not be screen accurate (is there such a thing, truly?), but it's close enough for me.
The only (and I mean only) complaint I have about the jacket is a I wish they had put satin or something other than cotton in the sleeves. The think is just about impossible to put/take off when wearing a sweater!
Merry Xmas!

These have cotton in the sleeves? The non 'collector' versions I've had have the same nylon used in the body in the sleeves.

Hmmm...
The sleeves in my jacket are the same as the body lining, it's all nylon. It's easy to put on and take off no matter what I'm wearing underneath it.
