nylon webbing width

Post by enigmata_wood »

I tried using the search engine but had no luck so I'll ask the experts here.
How wide is the flat webbing used to plait a nylon whip shell please?

nylon whip shell?

if you mean the flattened decorded paracord we braid the whip with it's around 4.5mm(3/16"), and that has been answered before, although im not sure where or when ;P

hope that answered your question

it did, thanks. I'm surprised it's so narrow. the 'twill' pattern effect I see on screen doesn't seem that small.

i measured on one of my whips, and when stretched it seems to be 4mm(measured a scrap piece first time)

but yeah, it looks wider on the whip than it looks by just having the measurement.

now start braiding ;)
