That's a little over sharing with that story.

Have you felt the body on that hat? It's far to smooth to resist!
Indiana Jeff, my whips are actually not under lock and key. But good advice.

beg, borrow or steal
save the money

Maybe this should be our theme album..
http://www.amazon.com/Some-People-Have- ... B0010DJ1VA
That was what came instantly to mind when WhipDude said he doesn't have a problem.
Or, maybe the metaphorical Weezer song, "We Are All On Drugs" would suit.

Re: The Penman post 'em up Pages....The Adventure Continues...
But seriously, does anyone ever wonder what it is that makes us all so crazy for this stuff?
Is it the gear? The comraderie? The need to connect with the child within?
I suppose I could post this question on just about every link on this site, but I'm doing it here just because it came up.
I mean, I have two nice hats, (and two cheaper ones) four jackets, six whips (with more coming), five shirts, two pairs of pants, two holsters, two pairs of boots, three satchels and straps to go with, a sankara stone, a fertility idol, and countless other books, toys, and other memorabilia, etc.
What is it about THIS character? What is it about THESE clothes? WHY do we all go crazy?
I know other fans have similar obsessions with Star Wars or Star Trek. Heck, there was a guy on a Comedy Central show last night (Tosh.o) who was absolutely berserk for TRON. He had this whole TRON outfit. And while his outfit isn't as usable the way a nice fedora is, or a nice Jacket, I realized that he had the same level of obsession as most of us.
How often do you guys actually sit back and say, "No, seriously, I need help?"

Re: The Penman post 'em up Pages....The Adventure Continues...
For me, I've always thought the jacket was cool, so I wanted one, but it was one of a kind, and you could not find one anywhere. The other parts of the gear were unique as well, like the shirt and boots. DN really did a great job with designing cool stuff for the character, and Ford did a great job in 'owning' it. Over the years, I've also liked the character traits that Indy symbolized & exhibited: persistence, dedication and a love for what he did. He became the pinnacle of action/adventure. Yes, you can even learn something from a fictional, throwback hero.

Re: The Penman post 'em up Pages....The Adventure Continues...
For me, this started with a love for Star Wars. My uncle introduced me to Star Wars and shorty after then he told me about another movie with the guy who played Han Solo. As soon as I saw Raiders, I was hooked. It changed my life in more than one way: I've rarely spent a day since then without a hat on my head. Though I love Indy's gear, its really only the fedora that I'm passionate about. I don't only love or have Indy style hats but it is my favorite and started it all.

Yeah, not too bad!
DHW, that LC hat suits you really well. I really like John's LC hats which is odd because I really DON'T like the hats from LC.
Here are a few pictures of my Penman from my wedding last month.

Yes, John... I suppose you're right...
(Or at least, that's what I thought I'd settled on...)
Y'see, the "problem" (although it's really NOT a problem) is this:
You've got Full Catalog of Indiana Jones Hats of such EXCELLENT quality that I keep changing my mind back and forth and start (re)considering completing my "Jones" Collection with you first before branching out...
Sometimes, I just don't know...
But I DO know this:
Either way... whatever I order next... if it's with Penman Hats, I'm quite literally in a "can't lose" situation.

I just got my Penman Last Crusade in the mail!!! OH MY GOSH.... this hat is BEAUTIFUL!
Words cannot begin to describe how pleased I am with my purchase!
I'll be posting a couple of pics later today. I might be taking a trip to Madison next weekend and if I do, I am bring my LC with me to get some good outdoor pics taken. Right now I have no photographer so basic pictures are going to have to suffice until a photographer can be had.

Re: The Penman post 'em up Pages....The Adventure Continues...
Thanks, jnicktem! Gorgeous hat. I'm getting an LC Penman next week sometime. John said he would mail it out today priority mail. Mine is a LC Venice Pier style, beaverlid, so you'll get a look at one soon! Is Last Crusade your favorite like mine? That was my first Indy movie (and the hat was shown in a lot of "dressy" situations) so it has always had a special place in my heart. I love the Raiders hat too, but LC is my favorite hat for "looking classy."
