Two Terry Jacka whips!
Here are some pictures of me getting my 10' KOTCS whip, and a 7' 16 plait De Longis style whip, with the 13" handle.
I'll put up some more pics of the whips later for all to see!
Can you believe it? The day HF announces he's into the next film, my new whips arrive!

I agree. Apart from when you've got to pay Customs charges before the post office will release it ...IndianaBravo wrote:In the words of bobm2004, "Ain´t nothing like package day!"
BTW, I really like how the KOTCS whip rolls out in that last pic. Smooth!
Re: Two Terry Jacka whips!
Daren, congratulations on your new whips... they look fantastic in those pics. Please do post more when you have the time.

Yeah, it was pretty sweet. But no kidding, my girlfriend broke up with me the night before, which really does hurt. So I took the day off of work to stew it over and deal with it, ordered a Raiders Jacket from Tony, since I was going to anyway and had time to kill, then read the quote from HF five minutes after getting off the phone with Tony, then got my whips in the mail that I have been waiting for since December! So, all in all, while I was and am sad about being dumped, it was a really awesome day. And I played hooky, so I was totally relaxed.
If my ex looked at my facebook last night, all she would have seen was pictures of me with my whips, smiling like a seven year old.
And yet I wonder why she broke up with me . . .

Way to go Daren!
Did you notice when you opened it up that it looks like a "sculpture" due to the binding being so tight? I will post pics of mine soon....

Yes Allen, those were great pictures showing the extended stiff transition of the whip. I like the big "grin" too

Re: Two Terry Jacka whips!
Awesome video. It was funny, though, to see a car flying down the street every so often. Do you ever get any noise complaints from the neighbors, or are they used to it by now? I never had any problems whipcracking in my old neighborhood because I'd been doing it for so long that people knew about it.

Re: Two Terry Jacka whips!
Yeah, I'm not on a main road, so there's not a whole lot of traffic. But the people in my neighborhood have never complained, and I think that since I've been at it pretty regularly for over a year now, everyone knows what's up.
Also, I'm a drummer, so everyone's pretty used to the noise I make.

I'm really liking that DeLongis styled whip! Post some more photos of it other than that one photo please.

Re: Two Terry Jacka whips!
I find it funny that no one will complain about the noise my whip practice makes, I mean after all what is so intimidating about a guy cracking a 10 foot whip as you approach him??

WOW . . . Those are all beautiful. My favorite (aside from KOTCS whip, of course) is the brown one the middle--fourth from the right--with what looks like a 10" handle. That's the one I want.
I wrote Terry yesterday to tell him I want another whip. I figure it'll be another nine months before I gotta come up with the cash, so no harm in asking. I want a 5' whip with a 10" handle in brown. Brown that like the brown one in the middle with the 10" handle. WOW . . .

Louie did make it, it's a 10" handle though. Steve Huntress made the Delongis up top.

Re: Two Terry Jacka whips!
Intercept,
I've had the pleasure to handle some Jacka's and it's all about what you want. The Jacka Delongis I handled had it's transition so tight I literally could not use it. I tried Louie's 8' Jacka (I want this whip!) and it was about right. It was realllly slow to crack though. I think that both my Huntress and my Foxx whips have the right amount of tension in the transition. If I want I can crack them against the belly without sacrificing accuracy. There are many good whip makers out there and in the end if the rep is there, it IS a good whip. And if you're willing to wait you can save money by ordering from Jacka direct, http://theaustralianwhipco.com/index.htm and that money goes to the whip makers, not a middleman

Re: Two Terry Jacka whips!
It takes ages to break in a Jacka whip without "curving" it, but when it is ready to go, it is really a pleasure to crack.
