I can tell you this, they are not WWII Germany tropical trousers. The color is close to that worn by the Luftwaffe. The Army trousers varied from olive to brown. Regardless the cut is nothing like either.
All the Germans in Raiders were sporting olive jackets and tan trousers. Not historically correct. Additionally the German Tropical uniform was created at the university of Munich in 1940, so it didn't even exist when Raiders took place.
Over the years I've learned that Raiders is just full of military inaccuracies, many of which are the uniforms. I think the filmmakers knew that the vast majority of people would just relate without having to be completely accurate.
To have been "completely accurate" in the film would have been boring. An accurate depiction of the Germans that were sent around the world trying to prove the Nazi Aryan B.S. would to have been to portray German scientists, in plain cloths, unarmed.
Even in the late 1930's I think the Egyptian government would have objected to an armed contingent of German soldiers plundering a national historic site. I could be wrong.
I have a Replica German tropical uniform for sale if your interested, tunic and trousers ... $100.00 + S&H
The insignia is in the pocket.
I'll entertain a trade offer.

No you are right. The British had their "hand" on Egypt this time and im quite sure that they don`t let the Germans dig there with military forces in that huge strength or any soldier as guards either. And for sure is that the handguns like the MP-40 or the P38 came up later and can`t be used in 1936. Same with the U-Boot and some other uniform parts. But i still like Raiders the most of all Indymovies.
