How good are these resin Raiders S&Ws?
Has anyone bought/seen one of these first hand? How would you rate them?
They're made by Artsee1.

Here's what seems to be there original thread about Artsee1's S&W. viewtopic.php?f=4&t=15850
Read through the thread and you'll come across his direct contact information. In a different thread he recommends contacting him directly rather than buying through e-Bay. The threads I was looking at are a couple of years old so the e-Bay piece may no longer apply, but can't hurt to contact him directly anyway.
I don't own one, but overall the feedback has been very positive on these. And from some pretty tough to please customers.
Regards,
Indiana Jeff

Thanks Jeff!

I own one and recommend it highly. It's solid with excellent, crisp, details as well as great weathering. Here's a photo of mine next to my real Smith.

KB - You may fall foul of the VCR Act by buying one (bloody stupid law) unless it arrives bright blue or orange........

Add me to the list of satisfied customers. Now if we could only get a nice resin copy of the Webley WG with that bird's head grip.

Same here. his Stembridge is awesome. i don't own one of his Webley models but am extremely satisfied with the S&W. Also, his communication and cust. service is top notch. I just wish he'd offer the "Bapty" HE2 also.

I've got a S&W as well, and for the price, it's very nice.
Re: How good are these resin Raiders S&Ws?
I would have to disagree. The maker must be running his molds into the ground cos the one I got is horribly warped.
Even two friends that I showed it to commented on the warping... and they don't even collect props so I didn't expect them to really notice!

That's really disappointing to hear and seemingly unusual for Artsee1's reputation. Have you contacted him?

Are you talking about the area behind the chamber? I've got an Artsee1 too, and I love mine. There is a bend on the area just behind the chamber, but that is supposed to be there.Kurtyboy wrote:I would have to disagree. Can you see the same warping in this picture as yours has?

Shane, is that my old headpiece? If so, it looks great!
Re: How good are these resin Raiders S&Ws?
No, I'm talking about the barrel not being straight. It points down and to the right. Kinda a major problem for a pistol if you ask me! And just noticed the grip is also a bit twisted.
There are also some major seam lines and a small chunk missing due to bubbling.
I should've learned my lesson years ago about buying resin castings from ebay!

Thanks for the pics. Now we can see what you're referring to. When you got yours via eBay, was there anything in the description indicating these might be seconds? Any images in the description showing pictures of the exact gun you bought? I thought at one point he was selling his flawed castings at a reduced price. At any rate, the Artsee guns I've seen in person have been noticeably better than the one you got.
Re: How good are these resin Raiders S&Ws?
Didn't actually buy it off ebay. Saw them on ebay and contacted him through his website.
For the price it isn't bad, but had I known it would be like this I would've looked elsewhere.
