I can only echo what bink/Strider and Steve have said.

Walt was a friend, and I can say with no hesitation what so ever, he is definitely smiling on you right now. He loved his gear, and loved folks who loved gear. He would be SO pleased to know his hat is such good hands.

Enjoy it!

HIGH regards! Michaelson

Sometimes folks throw around the phrase "wear it with pride" when it's neither necessary nor appropriate...
But that is FAR from being the case here... you've got a fine, fine hat that belonged to a fine gentleman (and as has been said, he would have really liked that one of his fellow C.O.W. Members took possesion of it)...
So, wear it with pride, AFI... wear it with pride.

Thank you all, gentlemen! I couldn't be happier with this old treasure, a valued possession of an esteemed member of our little fraternity. It has CERTAINLY been well cared for, and I will continue to do so myself. I was tickled that it took the diamond so well; I've been enviously looking at all the similar diamond-bashed Open Road-type lids at the FL for some time, but none of my previous hats seemed to like being pushed into that form.

I do "wear it with pride" as often as possible, when not in uniform of course :D Thanks again for the compliments. Rest in peace, Sergei, knowing your legacy is secure here.
