Grey Henry, but which colour for the ribbon?

Hi everbody,
as many folks have asked for "The Henry" in grey colour, we've started to prepare for that project.
But there's a question about the colour of the ribbon. You may have a look at the picture and tell us which colour you prefer.
Sure the grey of the felt is an important fact when asking about the ribbon. You may have a look at the topic http://indygear.com/cow/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=39911 where you can see a grey ABD. That grey is very close to the grey Henry.

Both would look great on the grey felt, however I'll have to agree with everyone else that the black gives it a nice contrass. Have you guys given any thought about the color of the liner yet?

If i've gotta pick between the two above, it's Black without a doubt. I think a very very dark blue, that looks black in direct light, might look good on a light grey hat. Just an idea.

And if not that, black would be my choice, though I'd love to see a comparison pic of the two on a hat if possible.

Yeah, definitely black in my opinion, too.
Also...
I think - as weird as this might sound - that if you took a photo of a grey hat with a dark grey ribbon, the fact that the ribbon is lighter than black would make it look like the photo had too much light exposure in it... do you know what I mean? As if there was "too much sun that day".
But, then again, maybe that sort of "trick of the eye" would apply only to Members of C.O.W.
Just, sort of an "unformed thought" on this subject...
I think I might need sleep.

Anyway, black... definitely black.

My vote would be whatever is closest to the KotCS ribbon!

Although come to think of it, a thick white ribbon might not look too bad on it either...

I don't want a KotCS grey hat, I want a Raiders grey hat. The color is different in the films. The KotCS hat is more grey while the Raiders has some brown in it.

I think the perceived brown in the Raiders grey travel hat is due ot the lighting. There is a photo somewhere here that shows Ford standing outside of the plance with a young girl and the hat looks grey with a black ribbon. I'd go off this becuase it was in natural lighting.

There are just a couple of heads who like to see a dark grey ribbon on the grey Henry.
Another way to find out which colour was on the original Raiders hat, would be to ask this guy from screenused.com, as I was not sure about that.
The Colour on the KOTCS grey hat was definitely black.

Sorry, I go with the minority. A grey hat with a black ribbon looks too much like a gangster fedora to me. Grey ribbon is always my vote on a grey hat. Black is 'correct', but never been my choice when I've had grey hats made for me.

I know you like matching ribbon and hat body, Mark, but I just can't get into it. I need a contrasting ribbon on my hats unless it is black. In that case, black ribbon works best.

Agreed, but personally I'm a fan of contrasting like colors....dark grey against light grey.

Ok, back on topic. I think that a dark grey ribbon would work if this wasn't an Indy hat. I think it would still work for an Indy hat. But I prefer the black ribbon. The dark grey would make for a nice change up and some variety though. And variety, when it comes to hats, is important. At least to me it is. Is there any way of having the option of black and dark grey? I know that coming from a factory this might be a difficult option to have but figured it was worth asking.

Just picked the color of the felt

Well... rather picked three colors that I like and from which I want the manufacturer to make a mix. I'm not really sure how to explain exactly how he's supposed to make it, but so far everything worked out as desired, so I have high expectations as usual

I'll call him up tomorrow and see if he can make a prototype or two for me. Once that's here and approved for, we'll be ready to go
