Re: What if?
I think he's referring to Abner/Fedora in LC ... but I don't get the point either, I'm afraid.
If Indy would have went with a longer jacket, the "IndyJacket" would have been ... hmmm ... longer, I guess.

Re: What if?
what if Indy wore a helmet instead of a hat?
Re: What if?
Platon would be telling us our jackets were too long?

Re: What if?
with all the jacket pics on at the moment....I was just thinking of where Indy met the "other" adventurer in the beginning of Last Crusade...Isn't that the original influence??

Re: What if?
It's supposed to be, but he only gave him his hat, or did Indy keep his whip too?
Re: What if?
after he gave indy his hat and left, Indy thought what the heck?!!?... he then ran outside knocked over with a board, stripped of all his clothes and said to him I aint settling for only the hat fool!!...
Re: What if?
Holt, you are setting up an ugly young Indy scenario there!

What if Indy wore a velour sweatsuit.

Re: What if?
What if Indy determined a spandex superhero costume complete with magic baby blue tights was the way to go?
A little more seriously though, I think I'll have another look at the other guy's jacket just to take better note of it's details and see how similar or dissimilar it is to Indy's since my curiosity has been piqued.

Re: What if?
It's longer, darker and has buttons. Looks a bit more "formal" to me than Indy's flightjacket.

Re: What if?
I always assumed that he was wearing the contemporary equivalent to Indys jacket at that time, so there is a parallel there. Maybe it was cool in the 1900-1910 era or something. Indys jacket is the `next gen`
Re: What if?
Does anyone have any good screen grabs/pics of 'Fedora's' jacket.........VP or anyone out there ??
Re: What if?
I like Indy's jacket because of what it is and how it is designed. If he would have worn a leather blazer instead, I would still love the Indy character but probably would not mutiple Indy jackets because I don't look good in leather blazers (look too much like a thug).
It much like the fedora. Not a huge fan of it so I don't focus on it a much as another member would who loves it. I have one for its purpose but nothing extravagant or SA.

Re: What if?
My biggest problem with the Indy style jacket is the fact that a cool breeze always finds itself running right up your back, even when zipped, so sometimes I wish Indy HAD worn a longer jacket!

Hmmm can't say I've had that problemmaboot38 wrote:My biggest problem with the Indy style jacket is the fact that a cool breeze always finds itself running right up your back, even when zipped, so sometimes I wish Indy HAD worn a longer jacket!

What if Indy wore a stingy brim fedora, pumpkin colored boots, and used a stockwhip?

...or if he had worn a panama hat, Hawaiian shirt, and a safari jacket?

You don't live in New England, Kyle. When it is 5 degrees, that'll happen.knibs7 wrote:Hmmm can't say I've had that problemmaboot38 wrote:My biggest problem with the Indy style jacket is the fact that a cool breeze always finds itself running right up your back, even when zipped, so sometimes I wish Indy HAD worn a longer jacket!

Re: What if?
Well, keep in mind that the jacket 'Fedora' was wearing would have been a longer style common in 1912. As we all know, styles come and go. Long jackets were still popular in the 20's, completely out in the 30's, and the shorter 'Ike' style jacket very popular in the 40's war years, though long jacket length DID come back in the 50's. That's why , historically, the CS jacket length works for me.

I got it.. what if... Indy was really played by Tom Sellek and he carried the short shorts hawaiian shirts tube socks and sneakers onto that job!
Seriously. I don't get the point of this discussion. There are a million what if's in any movie. What if Jar Jar Binks never existed! oh wait.. wrong forum.

Re: What if?
Indy has his own look taken from Fedora. He has modified it and made it his own. Indy hasn't even changed his style from 1935-1957. Those boots must really smell

Let's face it, half of what's 'argued' around here doesn't amount to a hill of beans...but I guess it gives folks something to do.

Yep. Kind of reminds me of a review I read on the doco "The King of Kong".Michaelson wrote: Let's face it, half of what's 'argued' around here doesn't amount to a hill of beans...but I guess it gives folks something to do.

What if Indiana Jones was Amish? Then only HJ would have an outfit (I assume)!
