Local Gun Store sells Indy-ish gun?

Well, I seem to have found something pretty cool.

My local gun store, J & G Sales, is selling what appears to be a pretty good looking Indy gun. It's a model 10 S & W, and though it's only .38 Special caliber, I think if you slap a wood grip instead of a rubber one on there, it would make a mighty fine Indy pistol. What do you think? here's the link.

If you get the 'skinny barrel', it has the same outline as the big N-frame Smith, though the model 10 is actually a K-frme. If you are also lucky to have had the factory stamp the serial number far enough forward or back on the butt of the frame, you can also have a lanyard ring installed. I carry a model 13, the .357 bull barrel version of the 10, and had a ring installed, and put a set of 1917 gold medallian wood grips on the gun. Looks pretty dang good! J&G a local gun store??!! I don't THINK so. They're internationally known, and have sold as a gun wholesaler to gun stores all over the world. I know, as I used to order most of my stock from them back in the late 70's, early 80's. BIG outfit. You're lucky to be so close to them. The are the folks who usually get the neat stuff in first for wholesale. If my memory serves me correctly, THEY were the ones who actually first imported the Brazilian Smith HE into the U.S. that folks have recently been converting to real Indy revolvers, so they have a hand in our gear quest as well. P.S. Oh yes, if you want to take this a step further, try and find a WW2 era Smith and Wesson Military and Police model (predessor to the Model 10), as those already have the wood grips and an installed lanyard ring. They look like shrunk Indy HE's N-frames!

Yep, J & G sales, Prescott, Arizona.

They are some mighty swell folks up there. I purchased my first rifle from them on my 18th birthday (a Yugo SKS), and it, as well as J&G, have served me well ever since. I recommend everyone should deal with them, even if you're not in the same state.

Wow, I didn' know S&W made skinny barrel K frames anymore, but this gun is apparently recently production as it has the new shape/style thumb release for the cylinder.

They never STOPPED production of the classic model 10. They just don't advertise them, as the old 10 is their mainstay .38, and they KNOW they'll sell, so why use the marketing bucks to push them? Regards. Michaelson

Michaelson, the acquisition of the S&W Model 24 .44 Special this past weekend has put the Model 10 acquisition on hold for the moment! I'll just have to wait on that one!

Yeah!...that S&W Model 24 is sort of an "updated Indy revolver."
