Cymbal Cases for Whip Storage/Transport

Post by Texas Raider »

For those of you looking for a good case for your whips, especially traveling by air, where you have to check your baggage, a cymbal case works as a great whip case! I used these style cases when I was a road musician to carry my drums and gear. Many choices and HARD SHELL cases for air travel, not to mention padded dividers to separate whips. This is what I've used for a long time, thought I'd share. Here are a few examples-

Versions like this have backpack straps for easy carrying-

That's a slick deal. If I owned whips, that'd be my transport of choice.

As a former music teacher, TR, I can't tell you how many times I could've used a whip with my percussionists ;)

Sounds like a tough school, TR - it wasn't South Oak Cliff High, was it? ;)

Back on topic: great idea! I particularly like the hard case for when travelling by aeroplane.

That's new and unique. Good find TR. This could be a good option for those with bullwhips. Not stocks as they wouldn't fit, but for a person with multiple Indy whips, great.

Another option is a good hat box! I usually travel with two hats -- brown and grey. Which everone I placing the box goes over the whip, which is wraped within the bottom of the container. Thus one less piece of luggage. Though I rarely take the whip -- I do know this works equally as well! Just my two cents! W>
