Small teaser pics. of the new hat shop
Hey gang,
after round about nine months of cursing, eating dust, freezing our behind off and getting headaches over tiny details (along with the "standard" 80 hours / week) I'm pretty darn proud to show you a few teaser pictures of the new hatshop.
Of course it's yet far from finished (and from the outside we've done nothing at all yet), but anyway:

and last but CERTAINLY not least, Stefan with a critical view on a fresh blocked rawbody (that didn't pass the quality inspection):

Oh, he made the lid himself

Wow the shop looks great!!! I really like how you displayed your Indy collection. Each shelf is it's own movie, that is very cool. Good luck getting everything finished with the the new shop!!!

Very nice setup you have there Marc. I really like those wood cabinets with the glass. They have a lot of character. So... this is where all the magic happens eh?

What a great place to work!..I love the spaciousness and decor-practical and elegant!
Re: Small teaser pics. of the new hat shop
Looking very good, Marc. I remember when you were just pouring the concrete in there. Now look where you are.
Re: Small teaser pics. of the new hat shop
That's really cool. I'm sure you will have plenty of room to efficiently go about hat making!
As a side note, what type of bash (scene specific) is Stefan wearing? From the angle I see, I really like it.

The shop looks very utilitarian, which is just to my liking. That sweet Indy case adds just enough to give it some context. I see many a customer being pleased with the hats coming out of your new shop. Enjoy and take care.

Looks like a nice atmosphere for your craft. Seems like you need a pot bellied stove with a pot of coffee in the corner to round out the look. Can't wait to see what come out of this shop.
Cheers!

Great Marc!! Now, when ya get time, cover up the walls with artifact replicas, Indy posters, etc. Put a bottle of good single malt scotch in there, and a few Cubans, and I will have a place to sleep when I come visit!!! (promise to smoke em outside!) Just as long as I don't have to hand sew in sweats! My fingers need a rest. Fedora

When you find a boat that goes that way, don't forget to pick me up.
Re: Small teaser pics. of the new hat shop
As I already told you: great location, Bro - and definitely quite a way from the moist garage, isn't it?
I'm pretty sure he will, Steve. The pictures above are indicating the start of a nice collection - even beyond the Indy props. Forgive me, Marc for just mentioning it again and again (but I'm kinda proud and happy you really included it) - there's already a small silver dagger hidden somewhereFedora wrote:Great Marc!! I'll definitely second that! If you ever need another party count me in.Put a bottle of good single malt scotch in there, and a few Cubans, and I will have a place to sleep when I come visit!!! Re: Small teaser pics. of the new hat shop
Your wait for the wait time to go down could take the same or longer.

Re: Small teaser pics. of the new hat shop
Better to order now and begin waiting now. Steve has said that he doubts that his wait times will get shorter than six months. By the time its down to taht, you would have waited a year. Also, keep in mind that Steve's wait time have no bearing on Marc's. Contact Marc for his wait time.

Re: Small teaser pics. of the new hat shop
Thanks for the kind comments guys!!!
This weeks has been... well, hard, so it's really appreciated to get some kind feedback here.
On my way home Friday evening, a deer crossed the street and I kinda tried NOT to hit it. Long story short: instead of hitting it, my car turned 180° and I hit a tree (an old oak and THIS oak wasn't bending - no pun to you my friend John). Well the car is completely wrecked, so I had to find a new (used) one pretty darn fast, so... well, I guess this kinda explains why this week wasn't my favorite
Regards,
Marc

Oh, don't worry my friend! I already have the props and the posters... only after this week there's no whiskey left except a very, very rare single malt that will remain unopened. But the good thing is that over here, we've got places that have so much of the stuff, that they sell it Why do you think that the wood planc over the TV wall (referred to as the whiskey shelf by Stefan and me) has five layers of finish? Cubans? - No problem. Got plenty of longfillers waiting here in my humidor Oh, and for the sleeping place... Once I've scrapped the funds together, I plan to have a leather couch under the big window with a bed function, so... be my guesst Steve (and bring Penman with you ). Oh, and don't worry about sewing in sweatbands... There's PLENTY of other things to doGreat Marc!! Re: Small teaser pics. of the new hat shop
I'm sorry to hear that Marc... I'm am very glad to see that your ok. Its weird seeing all thiese accedents happing all of a suden.
I'm not sure how Germany with the rules of the road. But if memory serves me when i took the test back when I was 16 . one of the questions asked what do you do when you have an animal like a deer in your way. I selected to hit the breaks and slow down. However that was the wrong answer, the DMV book suguested that you do not hit the breaks and plow right threw the deer , so that it dosn't pop up into your windsheald.
Now I don't know if they ever tried this but it sound kinda messed up, Just to plow right threw the animal. I wonder if they would suggest the same thing if it was a person

Sorry, mom and dad were teachers!
Re: Small teaser pics. of the new hat shop
Same smart behind suggestions here in Germany. If I had actually HAD the time to THINK what I'm doing, I would most probably have hit the animal rather than risking my life (Police said I could as well have been dead and I not only survived, all I have is a whiplash). However it all went so fast, that it kinda came naturally to hit the brakes and stir the car into a different direction, which - on a wet road - ... ah well. I'm fine, the deer is too, my car dealer is happy... all's good

Re: Small teaser pics. of the new hat shop
Do really laws say you should hit the animal? it's kinda creepy.
BUT you could then bring the deer home and have a good meal....mmmm
(sorry, it's dinner time here, I'm hungry).

Re: Small teaser pics. of the new hat shop
I don't know if it is actally in the laws, but it is highly reccomended. In the Netherlands if an animal gets in front of your car while taking a driving-test and you hit the breaks, you have failed the test

It's the same here in Italy Restless Dreamer, not that it says you have to HIT the animal
we have the same problem with pedestrians heregwyddion wrote:In the Netherlands if an animal gets in front of your car while taking a driving-test and you hit the breaks, you have failed the test

While that may be the conventional wisdom on deer, don't try that with a Moose. They'll be combing through the rear seat all day trying to figure out which parts are you and which parts are moose.
Marc, can't wait to see photos of the shop once it is decorated.

WOW isn't that the truth I was coming around a corner in the mountains of Colorado and two Moose's were just hanging out in the midle of the road Luckely since I was going down a moutain i was already driving at a really slow speed so it wasn't anything to stop in time. But I tell you what they arn't scared of car horns they just staired at me and took there time. I think they knew who would win in a V.S. match....maboot38 wrote:While that may be the conventional wisdom on deer, don't try that with a Moose.
