Black Indy hats

Post by Caber »

I am getting a Magnoli Herbert Johnson Indy style hat 8) In black. I have not sean any Indy hat In black and would like to see one . If any of you have one in black I would love to see it

Also I am kind of tall ( 6' 1") I play basket ball so i am rather long and ripped but not bulky . I have a long face too with a steep jaw. I want my hat to fit good and match.Should i change the dimensions or stay original? the main thing is i dont want to look like im wering a pilgrim hat. And what is an open crown?

the height of the crown should work, but you may need to trim the brim past the SA specs if your face is that long. got any pics of you with a standard fedora offering?

open crown means the hat has not been folded, creased or bashed (the way you like to say it). for a better explaination, I'll show you some photos:

This is a open crown hat:

And these are bashed hats:

That hat is beautiful. It has a very 30's feel to it. Can you post some pic the hat being worn? Hats always look better being worn.

it's the lighting. The black felt used on that Ab is the same felt I use and it's black alright but the light can play tricks with you.

Truly, it is jet black. I purchased it to wear with a black overcoat, and a charcoal duffel coat. It is, with those and other dark clothing, simply magnificent!!!

Did't he move to Gotham City? Oh WAIT, that's Batman.. sorry.

I like the idea of a black hat. And the AB looks good.. is the felt kind of "furry" or is it the lighting causing that and the purple that some are seeing?

rcinlv, that may be the best pic of an Indy hat I've seen, you really captured it with the lighting in the sun.

I have always thought that a white hat was too "pimp." I certainly cannot pull off the look. Thats not to say some can...just not me, so I've enver even bothered.

Yeah, I guess it would have to be a cowboy hat to pull that off.

White western hats look great. In fact, white is my favorite color for a western hat. White fedora? Not for me.
