Need some help!

So, I'm working on a wooden S&W pistol, and I have no clue of what to use as the bullet chamber. Any ideas?

I made one myself, albeit a dingy one, but I took two pieces of wood and glued them together and then shaved them into a circle. Once the shape was right, I made the chamber reliefs in it. Hope this helps a little.

yeah...thanks...i basically have some cheap wood carving tools from wal-mart that ran for 4 bucks and a jig saw....ill post some pics later to show you how its comin along

It's a good start. I'll give the bullet chamber some thought, but for now what I'm thinking is some cheap water guy or cap gun, then just carefully cut out the chamber, glue it onto the sides of your wood pistol and paint it black.

I'm assuming that is just a rough cut. With some creative sanding, some gloss enamel, and a bunch of parts glued on, you MIGHT be able to pull it off.

Go to your local hardware or hobby store.

Buy 6 inches of this

cut in half and glue on either side.

By painting with slightly different shades you could probably even suggest the cylinder flutes.

If you have a plane or even a belt sander you could get the proportions a bit more correct by shaving down the flat side a bit.

Hey 1024 i admire for trying to do this but you could save a lot of time. I purchase a toy gun. Gently took it apart and cut the barrel down to size, refixed it all and then painted black from it's original blue and yellow (nice), with a bit of ageing it looks ok as a prop. Would put pics up but still haven't managed to master that art yet. JUst an idea for you.
Good luck with your project though.
