MOTB screencaps particularly gloves...
I know there is a thread on this but it really wasn't helpful. Can anyone provide some screencaps of the Mystery of the Blues Indy gloves and does anyone have any suggestions on where to find those? Thanks!!

Here's a photo from TheRaider.net:
Pyroxene posted a link (in 2003!) to these L.L. Bean gloves:

I have a pair quite similar, though considerably less expensive, that I picked up from Target.

OK --- I had a good look at the gloves on my very very very big screen.
They look just like the Eddie Bauer ones I saw Friday. Something like these: http://www.eddiebauer.com/catalog/produ ... leId=33950
Although I don't remember them being that quite cinched up at the wrist, more flatter like in the movie.
And now the OTHER thing needed for total screen accuracy is the walkie talkie (although you can see he has a Webley holster - continuity error - in the blizzard).
It looks like one of the ET Walkie Talkies. 50's radios were bigger.

Pretty sure on the old VHS is it a walkie talkie too. Of course they was released ET walkie talkie CGI era, so it is a good theory though.Cassidy wrote:No, no, no...in the original airing it was a gun, but ILM replaced it digitally with a walkie-talkie for the DVD release, at Spielberg's request.
But especially in the scene when he gets/falls out of the truck, if that's CGI, then ILM are CGI gods. Take a really close look.
Now, if he has his gun, it sort of ruins the plot point in the cabin where he said "they've got guns!", doesn't it? If so, this needed fixing far earlier than any video release.
However, as they walk through the blizzard, he DEFINITELY has at least a holster on his belt, but there is plenty of fake snow effects added over the top, very hard to see, but you can trace the outline of it.
My theory: they shot the blizzard scene either with a double or whatever and forgot about the plot and just used the Webley holster.
They shot the truck exit scene later and had realized it by this time and gave him a walkie talkie. I watched this scene several times in slow mo blown up to a huge size, I really don't believe it is CGI.
Anyway, rather than reshoot the snow trek, they just said "we'll fix it in post and add more snow overlay.

Dockers also has a pair of sherpa lined gloves that are close but I can only find them in black. There are a bunch on eBay.

After the cold snap we had here this past week I have been looking into getting a pair of these again. Managed to stumble upon these while scouring the internet: http://www.leathercoatsetc.com/p-305-ge ... loves.aspx

Re: MOTB screencaps particularly gloves...
Excellent!
BTW I just checked my Bean link and noticed they've added a rabbit fur lined version.
You can't see the lining in the pictures, but here is the link:
http://www.llbean.com/llb/shop/18597?fe ... ppxs&dds=y
(click on 3rd color, cordovan)
The Bean's don't have the slit in them, though the LeatherCoatsEtc color looks quite nice.

Re: MOTB screencaps particularly gloves...
It's tempting to get them now but I think I will drop a few well placed hints. (read: point to the screen and shout "Boy these are nice!")
I was thinking about getting their shearling-lined Bean boots last week but hadn't looked at their website. The fur-lined gloves look good. Bean always makes quality stuff.

They sell them every winter at your local K-Mart, both brown/black, fur lined or with Thinsolate insulation for around $20.
I've worn the black Thinsolate lined pair for literally years now, and they make great driving gloves in that old cold Plymouth.
Regards! Michaelson

Re: MOTB screencaps particularly gloves...
Hi everyone,
Not sure whether it's better to revive this Thread or start another one just to bring this to the attention of those who might be looking for something like these, but MODs please let me know if you'd rather I'd have started a new Thread and I'll be happy to do so...
Out shopping this weekend and found myself in The Bay (Hudson's Bay Co.) where they had a 25% off Sale happening...
I did not set out to find these that day, but I couldn't ignore them once I DID stumble across 'em:
Without Flash:
With Flash:
The leather's like butter and even though the lining is man-made material, it's designed to look and feel like rabbit fur.
Even WITH the discount they're more than I'd ever like to spend on a pair of gloves (originally $50.00, but SALE price $37.50 plus Tax)... So, I was "Hmmm" -ing about them when my wife snatched them outta my hands and said "Stop worrying, cowboy... these'll be Mom's birthday present to you at the end of the month!"
With the purchase of these gloves (and my recent Shawl Neck Cardigan) I guess there's no denyin' it:
Looks like I'm on the road to putting together a Mystery of the Blues Indy outfit!
That very night I wrote Indy Magnoli and placed an order with him for one of his Montana Scarves...
No going back NOW.

Re: MOTB screencaps particularly gloves...
I checked out the Auclair Design glove site to see if those gloves were list but couldn't find them.
However I found these "Straight" thumb design gloves.
