Concealed Carry Holster To Go With Indy Gear
I got me a nice new concealed carry holster for my Hi-Power. Got this custom made, in a "distressed" brown leather. Tuckable, rough out design to keep the smooth soft side on the pistol ;-) The guy is totally cool and great to deal with,,had this done in about 2 weeks. Got it specifically to match the Indy style of dress,,,of course ;-) I pretty much always get my holsters with the 'body shield' high back to protect both the gun and my skin from any sharp edges, and to keep as much sweat off the gun as possible. Hooks are supposed to be under the belt, but I left them out so you can indeed see that my High Power is in there. HBE leatherworks, he makes tons of cool gear!

Actually, the debate on exactly where Indy retrieves his HP from (in the bar scene) still goes on. TR's holster is not a screen prop, but is rather a functional holster used to carry a concealed handgun out in public. It just happens to be made in a distress leather style that MIGHT be reminiscent of what Indy would choose if this option were available.Jakob Emiliussen wrote:That's a very nice holster. I've always thought that a holster under the arm, was where the Browning came from! Nice!
TR, that is a great holster. Do you have any contact information for the holster maker?
Nice rig. I'd say a small-of-the back holster would be the best place for Indy to carry an HP as a concealed backup, considering his wardrobe, other equipment, and concealment needs.
A trusted custom holster maker is a great resource. Here in WA state, we've got Dave Workman, the guy who invented the "tuckable" holster described above--an inside-the-waistband holster that allows you to tuck your shirt in OVER the grip for excellent concealability.
I know a number of people who rely on his products to help ensure they come home each day. He's a great guy, and literally wrote the book on Washington state's firearm owner rights and responsibilities.
Although I haven't spoken to him about it, I'm sure he could do custom flap holsters, too. I might see him this afternoon, so I'll ask him about it.

Given the constraints of what we saw in the Raven, small-of-the-back carry was the most likely, despite any spinal injury risks (that's what a stunt man is for
). Probably tucked in the waistband, not even a holster.
Personally, holstered IWB behind the strong side hip makes the most sense to me for concealed carry in most situations.

Thanks for the compliments! And good description, Band Director Jones, thanks! Here is the contact info as requested- the dudes name is Eric Larsen (norwegian decent, same as I) ;-) Tell him I sent ya, ;-) the guy with the Distressed, rough side out, brown "DC Tuckable" for the High Power. This was the first he ever had requested like this.

As I mentioned, this IS a tuckable. I can tuck the shirt over the holster as you said hocfutue, as it has the "flaps" for the belt clips. This holster has the FBI cant, so I put the gun where it sits just a wee bit forward of my right cheek (the other one) I can scoot it up to strong side and it's fine too, but I prefer it back a bit. The small of the back carry is controversial because of the fall theory...best advice,,don't fall.. ;-) I've carried it that way before, it's no big deal, but I've since gotten rid of any SOB (small of the back) holsters 'cause I favor the WFRC (Wee Forward of Right Cheek) position ;-) (basically, behind the strong side hip) ;-) it is one of the better concealed carry postions.
