Todd's new boots, hook loops question

Post by JC1972 »

I know some people have said that the hook loops may be a problem. If these pop out, how easy would it be for a shoe repair shop to fix? Or am I SOL? Otherwise I'll sell mine while I can with the boots hardly worn. I heard Todd's next batch would be a heavier leather and this may not be a problem. Appreciate everyone's input. Thanks!

Did yours pop out? It's an easy fix at a cobler. They'll probably put them thru all the layers of the shoe, maybe even reinforce them somehow, which will make them stronger. Todd is addressing this issue, and is going to make sure the next batch is stronger.

Hope this helps!

No, mine are hardly worn. I was just wondering how easy of an issue this is to fix. Thanks TR!

I've been wearing mine regularly for a couple of weeks. I've treated them pretty rough, and I haven't had any problems with the lace hooks. They seem to be well anchored, and the leather - although soft - seems pretty strong.

I have one starting to come out already. I noticed it when I put them on for Halloween. Right boot bottom hook on the instep side

They have seen some very casual wear at most.

That's interesting. I haven't noticed any problem with the hooks on mine pulling loose. Like I said, I've been pretty rough on them.

I am not complaining and have no intentions of returning them.
