Guess you missed the thinly-veiled euphemism, so I'll just come out and say it: Your pictures are very pretty. ;-)Mine was taken before Crystal Skull came out, but thanks all the same

Hiding curves under a baggy Indy gear is a crime.

gear rocks
I spilled my water glass. There is a little real sweat that can seen on my neck, since I was a little hot. However, I did put water on my shirt since I wanted to simulate the sopping wet Indy look. Thanks for the compliments. Pretty much all of the gear has been adjusted, altered or distressed in some way or another, be it the hat, belt, etc.

Thanks, I agree, Indy should be dusty, sweaty & kind of beat up. Now I just need to do some outdoor pics before there's snow on the ground; that would make a kind of weird Indy pic. Maybe I would have to don a scarf and saxophone.BroadSword wrote:A real Indy, is a sweaty, grimy, filthy Indy. Re: "close enough"
That was then, this is now...Switch625 wrote:Here's my newly completed "close enough" Indy gear.
I'll start at the top and work my way down:
Fedora: Akubra Federation IV
Leather Jacket: Wested lamb (courtesy of fellow board member TCS)
Shirt: Cabela's Safari shirt
Pants: Lee khakis in "twig" color
Web belt: just some web belt I found at Kohls
Gun belt and whip holder: Costumebase from that auction site
Bag: Costumebase from that auction site
Bag strap: Todd's
Holster: got it off that auction site (not really happy with it - needs to be re-dyed)
Gun: plastic toy gun from a dollar store with swivel lanyard ring from eGunparts
Whip: got it off that auction site (good enough for now)
Shoes: Work America 6" work boot
Hope you all like it as much as I do! I still intend to upgrade the whip, maybe with Todd's prop whip, and the web belt but I'm not in too much of a hurry.
The hat and jacket are my favorite parts - they're so pretty! Can't wait for it to cool off here in Texas so I can wear the jacket out.
I have upgraded a few pieces:
- the pants are from Orvis and have the rear pocket flaps (I'm surprised how much this little detail got under my skin!)
- the whip, holster and web belt are from Todd's (I have one of his shirts too, but unfortunately I've put on a little weight lately and it doesn't fit too well at the moment.)
- you can't see it, but the gun is an Artsee1 Smith & Wesson
I have also placed a couple of small speakers in the bag that will plug into my iPod, which will be playing John Williams' music at tonight's Halloween party.
This was taken outside my back door and it turned out perfectly!

This is an initial pic - sans whip - and my bag strap is currently under repair.

Thank goodness for Halloween. It was the first time to put on full gear and go out in public. The party at my Am. Legion Post was great and I can't believe how may women wanted their picture taken with me as Indy. My new gunbelt from Todd made all the difference. It is much more comfortable with the gunbelt supported by the whip holder and web belt. No more having to constantly adjust the belt as it slides down your hip - I could actually dance with everything on.
