German Rucksack Straps

Post by crazylegsmurphy »

Some have said that the straps have been replaced with leather ones.

I wanted to start a thread about the straps alone and see if anyone had any ideas about them

Obviously SA is important to me (and many of us) so I would like to start picking apart the details.

EDIT:

What is this backpack actually called? (MKVII for eg.)

German mountain troop's rucksack.. ( or Gebirgsjager's rucksack) I am still kicking myself over the fact that my father sold those for years and now can only get the modern version from his supplier.. at times he would have dozens of those stacked in the garage.. but I never needed or wanted one then... live and learn I guess..

its seems so the leather hole section is longer than the stock straps and the leather is black not the dark green colour.
also the canvas straps seem to be darker like a dark grey/brown dont know how they did it.
