Bag Strap Colors/Styles etc. ~ PICS!!!

Finally got some shots of the new leather and colors for the straps. As I've stated before, I can make the leather in any color from any scene you like because I dye the leather myself. I am using top quality leather, custom sized and can groove any of the colors but the Raiders strap is the only one standard with grooves.

Here is a shot of some of the leather colors I work with from natural (far left) to the more reddish latigo (far right):



When I cut the leather from the hide it looks like the strap on the far left:

I can do lengths up to 80" and will combine any of the colors, grooves, buckles, etc. that you like. This is a twenty year strap. It will continue to color and soften with age while maintaining strength for a long time.

I really like the strap in the center on the 2nd picture. How much are your straps?

Straps are $40 w/ buckle.
Colors in the photo are as follows:

(left to right)
Natural, Distressed Saddle Tan, Range Tan, Medium Brown, Bison Brown, and Latigo. Black available on request.

The straps pictured with the buckles are Raiders Tan (on left) and Bison Brown w/ grooves (on right).

They are top grade 8 oz. leather and hand dye and size each strap to order. Any of the straps can come in 'distressed' finished which gives the strap a well worn and characteristic look. Like the first to the right of the natural strip shown.
Hardware can be nickel, brass, or black.

Just want to say what a great strap Wade makes.....Here's mine, a grooved bison brown with roller buckle. Wade sizes it according to your height, top notch!

How is the dye on these straps, Wade? I know some people have been worried about colour rubbing off on to their expensive Indy shirts when they get a bit sweaty.

Yes, the straps are new. I hand dye them with water based eco friendly dye. In their new condition some minor transfer will occur during the 'break in period.'
The transfer does not permanently stain the shirts and comes out easily in the wash.

To avoid any transfer at all, I recommend running over the strap with a damp cloth to clear any remaining dye 'dust' and so forth.

Second, take your strap and with your bare hands fold and twist it along the entire length of the strap making sure to bend and twist the whole thing.
This will work the crispness out of the new strap and help to work out the dye from the bottom side of the strap.

After a few good uses the strap will settle in and soften up and never leave any residue again

You can also give it a good dose of Peckard's after the damp clothe to help break it in.
