My 5 year old's Indy costume!

Post by Vaderbreath »

I thought I'd post some pics of my 5 year old boy in his Indy costume. I formed the hat, bought the jacket cheap off ebay, made the whip holder, weathered the bag, and so on... anyway, on to the pics:

He absolutely loves it, and I've had a great time putting it together over the last few months. So, on Halloween, we're going as big Indy, and lil' Indy!

That's fantastic! I wish I had Halloween costumes that cool when I was a kid. A Batman costume that consisted of nothing but a Batman face mask and what amounts to a plastic bag with a picture of Batman on it is really lame by comparison.

I fondly remember wearing a plastic darth vader mask with the elastic string, and the plastic costume with 'star wars' written across it. I never had a costume this cool until I was 35.

I had one of those too. When I see the Vader costumes that are available for kids today, even though I know what an accurate Vader costume should be, I get so jealous!

I have a few costumes in the closet, but I don't think I've been so excited about completing a costume project until the Indy project. Another week and a package from Todd's and I should be completely finished.

Great pics! you just have to make a smaller holster. Very easy scaling down the pattern in Indygear.

I actually offered to make him a smaller holslter, but he insisted that his be Indy's size. Funny because he just puts his little squirt gun in there and it drops to the bottom. Hey, if he's happy...

GREAT stuff! When I have kids I hope they'll get into Indy, it'd be too much fun getting them gear. Probably moreso than gear for myself.

Sneakertinker, congratulations to you as you anticipate the birth of your child. It is so much fun sharing the joy of these kinds of things with my little guy. I hope the same for you!

How many of us could claim gear THAT accurate at the age of five?! Not many i'll bet... ;-)

Thanks, Canyon! This whole Indy thing has been so much fun. I can't tell you how cute it is to come home at night and see this tiny Indiana Jones in the yard cracking his whip and singing the Indy theme song, fighting off, as he calls them, the ninjas (streets of cairo guys). Totally worth the effort of making his costume.
