Okay,
I've started to collect my Indy gear to creat a Indiana display. My goal one day is to have torso displays of Darth Vader, Boba Fett, a Stormtrooper ( I have all 3 MR helmets) and Indiana Jones.
Now my concern/problem comes in that I'm only 5'2 and I want my own gear and my own display. So far I have a pair of Alden 405s (which wouldn't be displayed anyways) a Louie Foxx KOTCS 10ft bullwhip, a MKVII w/ roller strap buckle both from Indy Magonli, and my Camptown 1957 legend. All the gear I have so far minus the alden shoes do not have to be sizeable.
Do you guys have a Indiana Jones display of gear that fits you and not Harrison Ford, or do you have 2 sets of shirts, jacket, etc? I almost don't want my own gear but to make the best display I can but I'm finding it hard to get my display going with nothing to use as a display and buying cloths that do not fit me.
Does anyone else have this problem? How do you display your gear and how many sets do you have?
.... I'm thinking of getting my web belt and gun belt to fit me. I have awhile until I move out (only 19) to start buidling my displays.
But my real question is that do you buy gear that fits you and display it even if its not accurate to the correct size on screen? Do you even care?
Indiana Jones display and personal gear?

I go with my size. Thats the whole point, I would think. I mean, there are prop collectors out there who think there is nothing more than just displaying the costume and if thats your plan, than just get Harrison's size. But, most of us like to enjoy our items and so getting your size allows you both to enjoy your hobby and acquire some nice articles of clothing! For me, I always go with my size!

Here's something else to think about:
If you are displaying the gear on a mannequin, but you get the gear that fits you, wouldn't it be kind of a pain in the butt to undress the mannequin every time you wanted to wear the outfit - then to dress it back up : But then you say to yourself, "the heck with it!" and you just keep it on the display anyways. At that point, if you're gonna keep it on the display, you might as well get the HF-sized IndyGear and have your gear someplace else. I keep my stuff on a valet, and when I'm done wearing it, sometimes I dont feel like putting it back on the valet right away - I can only imagine if I had to dress up a mannequin. Which reminds me: I worked in retail - trust me, dressing a mannequin is NOT an easy task. Just something to think about.

My friend, I am also 5' 2" and know exactly how you feel when it comes to buying gear that fits.
I have, in the past, have had pants taken in and am maybe considering having my NH shirt taken in on the sleeves, so you are not alone.
As for my gear display, it's currently all on a chair, but later this year or next year I am planning to buy two more crates to go with the one I have and arrange a display of my gear on there.

A valet is a small piece of furniture that is designed to keep all of your suit/garmet things neat and tidy. It stands on the floor and has a built-in rack for slacks and a jacket. Some even have handles and or hooks for say a belt or tie. Some even have drawers or a spot to keep jewelery like cufflinks and tie-pins, etc. I got one at Linen's N' Things about a year or so ago for cheap and I keep my gear on that.buda741 wrote:Whats a Valet? I'm going to be non-lazy and do a quick search on google.

Well are the other pieces you are displaying your size clothing or are they actor accurate?? If the other displays are your size then stick with that.. if not then get HF's size. It's really a personal decision on what kind of display you want. Good luck with your displays!!! Post pictures once you are done!
