Whip Cracking in video.

Post by Canasta »

Howdy,
I just put a new promotional video up on YOUTUBE.
I have been putting some small Wild West shows together over the last year.
(Chris Camp's Wild West Show and Cowboy Cavalcade)
You can check it out at
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-hvbG6XW1_E
Or go to YOUTUBE and type in Bullwhip.
Lots of gun spinning, trick shooting, medicine show and whip cracking.
Some stunts you might like.

All the best,
Chris aka Canasta

Wow, that guy can really toss those revolvers.

Gun spinning is an awesome hobby...I think alot of the whip enthusiasts would enjoy doing it.

HEY GUYS, thanks for the compliments.
I thought that some of you would enjoy it.

TurnerME:
I am way behind in updating my website and my schedule page. www.thewhipguy.com
I do a lot of one-man shows. This is what I do pretty much full-time.
As a group, we don't have any big gigs again until New Years Eve.
I'm trying to remedy that though.
I actually started putting these shows together because I love watching these guys and I never got to see them enough. It's a lot of fun working with them.

Mango,
Garret is a really great gun spinner and it's really fun to watch him because you can only imagine how many hours he has put into his craft.

Here is a little background on Randy and Dan.

Randy has been yodeling a trick roping for a long time.
he has yodeled at Carnage Hall and if you have seen the Disney film "Home on the Range", he did the yodeling in that movie.
He has played in a lot of gypsy bands and has traveled lots. He's a wealth of info as is Dan.

Speaking of Dan.
He's been doing this for over 30 years. He has become a bit of a mentor for me.
We was really good friends with Paul Lacrosse (one of the worlds best knife throwers and trick shooters) and worked closely with Bill Cody ... the last living grandson of Buffalo Bill Cody. They had a PBS television show together called "Americana on Tour".
I just wish that I had a video camera on Dan every time we sat down to talk. his stories are great to listen to and full of showbiz history.
His "Dummy" MAX is nearly 80 years old ... and the chicks still dig him.
(despite the fact that his paint is peeling off of his face.

Shagbd:
... I'll keep your resume on file (wink, wink)
We'll just call you W.H.I.P.
It stand for Watch Him Impair People.

Nick
I love the way those handles look.

I'll post more whip cracking/show videos soon.
Just got a new video camera so watch out.

Canasta,

Glad to hear you like the handles!, I was going to actually experiment with a 4 footer and wrapping almost the whole whip like some of the older western whips just to see what it would look like with the solid leather over the braid with the buckstitching and then maybe have the last foot or 6 inches of the braided thong hang out the end.
