If I could pick one good thing about this years summer in New England - it would be that you get to wear your jacket(s) a lot. Stupid rain and cool temps are getting on my nerves. Global Warming? Bah!_ wrote:I'll get some this weekend - right now I'm in Boston on business.
How long will you be in Boston?

For me, the jacket started the search that led me to "Indyfan" and eventually here. It's always been about the jacket. Many jackets have come and gone over the years with some coming close but just missing the mark. I think I know how you feel when you slip on the TN jacket and it just "works". It left me grinning like a fool. Something my wife still kids me about. However, even she concedes that it was well worth the price. Wear it in good health my friend.

I am extremely disappointed to hear this, _. I know you from the old days, and perhaps put the most stock in your opinion of Indy jackets of any Indy fan. When the Novak jacket came out, I was glad to see your reticence over the whole thing. I have succumbed to my wife's reasoning that two Indy jackets are enough for one man. That being said, I received a Wested jacket for my first father's day present, and for sentimental reasons can't sell it, despite it being not the best example of a Wested jacket. So I decided my second jacket would be a horsehide Wested, after selling my G&B that simply never hung right on my body.
Things were decided. Decisions laid to rest. And now this. Now you come to me with this.

I have a TN and used to have a Expo (beofre I sold it). They're both very high quality but the TN, in my opinion, is up another level......the feel and texture of the leather and the workmanship is unmatched out of all the 14 or so Indy jackets I've had at one time or another. Of course, as far as the fit, there's no comparison.....with extensive customization possible, the TN is far superior.

All I can say is that the sickness continues. Owning several Wested's, Expedition's, and Todd's...I still want a Nowak jacket. Oh if I only had the extra cash laying around with a jackets name on it. I have been rather caught up by seeing both Tony's Indy and Mutt jackets. Maybe I'll get lucky and win the lottery...I guess I should start playing, lol.

Just curious - are your two TN's exactly the same or did you change anything for the second one i.e. distressed and non-distressed? I know several people have purchased two or more of these TN's but not all have said why the additional. I can afford to do it but can't rationalize in my mind why I might want to. The one I have is absolutely perfect!

My first TN was Ford's specs and it is great but a tad snug across the shoulders so I ordered a second that was the next size up. My second one was less distressed and a little darker even though I didn't specify anything different in that regard. The less distressed one looks GREAT. I asked for a different inscription and a heavier gage zipper on my 2ndt. The zipper was a good idea as the original one was a bit wimpy IMO.

Well, I for one got three different Nowak-Indy's for myself, and might eventually get a fourth.Don't Call Me Junior! wrote:I know several people have purchased two or more of these TN's but not all have said why the additional.
My first is a Ford measurement jacket, for a static Indy display, since it is literally a jacket made by the same hands around the same time to the same dimensions. Decades from now, I might pull this one out of the closet and admire it for being a prime and perfect example of Indy's last jacket.
My second jacket is a prop-accurate, heavily distressed jacket, just like the ones Nowak sent to the studios, and has a loose fit so that I can layer it up in the winter, and the slightly-larger-than-necessary size also serves as an insurance against the ravages of time on my physique.
My third jacket is a lightly distressed jacket that looks screen-accurate. (See? A difference between prop and screen accurate! ) I ordered this one to fit me better for the here and the now, as I intended to pull my 'second' jacket out of the closet in a few more decades, when this 'third' jacket starts to feel a bit too snug, and when this 'third' jacket begins to show its age. The 'first' Ford-measurements is larger than both the second and the third jacket, and swims on me, and in the event that the 'second' is too small too, I can always turn to the 'first'.
If I ever order a fourth Indy-Nowak jacket, it would be a heavily distressed jacket that I could experiment with Pecards on, to give it a Raider's color, while having a Crystal Skull look. I'd also make it fit me like a glove, since the second and the third jackets are both slightly larger than what I normally look for in a jacket.
What can I say? I have a serious case of Indy OCD!

Wow. That is impressive. For some reason I thought he had people working for him. Thanks for clearing this up _._ wrote:One-man operationCanada Jones wrote:Does Tony actually make the jacket himself or just supervise the production of the jacket?_ wrote: it is the difference between a top-shelf military jacket and a tailor-made jacket hand made by the head-honcho.

Really? To be fair, when I was at Tony's place, there was someone else there working on the jackets, and in conversations, Tony does tell folks that the jackets are made by "the same hands that worked on the originals."_ wrote:One-man operationCanada Jones wrote:Does Tony actually make the jacket himself or just supervise the production of the jacket?_ wrote: it is the difference between a top-shelf military jacket and a tailor-made jacket hand made by the head-honcho.

He told me he has a small factory with a few employees but also pointed out that "if you want something done......" if you get my (his) drift. I think that when it comes to Indy I and special requests he is very hands on. He knows how crazy we all are and is very proud of his product so I wouldn't worry about anything in this sense. He even said that for some of us if Ford handed the jacket to someone off his back it wouldn't be "accurate" enough. I know it's been said here as well and I think it's true.Castor Dioscuri wrote:Really? All I'm saying is that I've only ever seen one photo of you here, and it must've been extremely jaded, as it didn't resemble anything close to how you describe yourself. Not to mention that it's no longer on this site. I also requested a photo one other time, curious to see what an Indy jacket with a 50+" chest looked like, which subsequently got ignored -- the same as the requests on this thread. If I'm completely incorrect in my observations, then I'll be the first one to admit it & offer apology. Until then, I'll wait to see some pics...

_ posted a pic of him wearing a todd's jacket iirc. he was very happy with it considering that patty is freak'n huge and probably difficult to fit in a jacket .....i've seen other pics of _....his avatar was a pic of him lounging pool-side for a while and then there was a whole schwack o pics of him from last year's QM. judging by the pics, he's not a man that i'd disagree with on construction of jackets (even though i have ).....based on some of the messages that we've exchanged, he's definitely a man that i would love to buy a beer and "sit upon the ground and tell sad stories of the death of kings" ;-)Tyrloch wrote:All I'm saying is that I've only ever seen one photo of you here, and it must've been extremely jaded, as it didn't resemble anything close to how you describe yourself.
