Dirt Cheap Indy Pants at Zellers

Post by Farnham54 »

Hey folks,

I just returned from Zellers as the proud new owner of a pair of Indy Chinos. they are called "Timber Creek" by Wrangler, and they are nearly the perfect color (in my mind, they are) as well as being darn comfy too.

To boot, they are coated with teflon, or something, and all water/beer/whatever just beads up and rolls off of them, leaving no mark whatsoever. Great pants.

The best part?

they only cost me 20 bucks CDN.

Worth checking out and soon i'll have some pics.

Farnham,

I think now would be a good time to inform the rest of the world that Zeller's is a discount dpartment store, EXCLUSIVELY here in Canada. It is a cross bewtween K-Mart and Wal-Mart (except Wal-Mart is putting Zellers out of business with it's bigger size and better prices)

Although Zellers is pretty good for reasonably priced khakis and button-down cotton shirts that can be worn well with a Wested without being blatantly Indy.

And Now You Know.

LOL @ Myself,

I've very sorry folks, Zellers is such a big chain here in Canada I assumed it was in the States too! Think Target; same kind of thing.

And no, there are no flaps over the rear pockets, i just noticed that myself. The real "indyesque" feature of the pants is the pleats on the front and the color, I was having a heck of a time finding a pair of slacks with the proper style of pleats.

However, if one is VERY industrious with a needle and thread, the pocket style is identical and sewing flaps on would not be too much of an undertaking. I will post pics as soon as I have a) a camera and b) somewhere to host.

Regards,

Farn

For us Yanks, you can get Timber Creeks at Wal-Mart. I did. No pocket flaps, but fairly comfortable for $18.00, and a nice color.

Peace,

OT, but do you know if they sell a decent Indy shirt at Wal-Mart? Gearhead on a budget here, hah.

Also a gearhead on a budget (frikin' college loans! ), but I'm also saving up for an HJ....

Anyhoo, yes, but I'm not sure if they still have it. I almost bought a khaki colored, two pocketed "Faded Glory" brand shirt. No epualets of course, but a nice shirt for $12! Just go there and look around for it.

Jsoftz, my advice is to go to Goodwill, if you have one in town. And to keep this on topic, you could also find flap-pocketed khakis there too! I've gotten two or three Indy shirts (with epaulets) and saw a nice ToD tweed jacket (alas it was too big). The stuff people give away!

Peace (and I hope that helped),

Heck I live in Houston, we have all sorts of places. In fact, the shoes and pants i'm wearing now are from a thrift store. Best places in the world for deals! Thanks, I'll check out the local thrift stores.
