1989 David Morgan Bullwhip
Here's a whip that just arrived today, a 10 ft David Morgan bullwhip from April, 1989. I think it's good to notice that in this whip the plaiting isn't as cramped/crowded as in some of the recent Morgans.
I saw another '89 DM when I was out in California and at first I almost thought it was a Strain or a Del Carpio copy, or somewhere in between the two, and then the owner told me it was a DM and I thought it was the coolest thing ever. Now I'm happy to have an '89 Morgan of my own

Very nice! If that's from the guy here on COW, at least it went to a good home. It reminds me of my '92 Morgan, and how I think the perfect Indy whip should look. The early 80s / Raiders whips, I find a little too skinny looking. The late 80s/early 90s Morgans have a tougher look but still have finer braiding than the later whips.

Yes, this is the Morgan that was listed in the Cairo Bazaar not too long ago. I think more people would've jumped on this whip if it weren't for the new KOTCS whips being so popular at the moment.
Also, the handle diameter of this whip is 20 mm, while on 2 of my 2005 Morgans the handles are 22 mm, or 7/8". But the knobs are the same size on all the whips. So I know a lot of Indy Fans that like the look of a large-sized knob/heel knot, but that look is due to a smaller handle diameter.

two years ago a member of this forum he brought me about € 800.oo for this whipHedji wrote:These are all so beautiful! Congratulations to the owners! I too tried to pm the seller of the 10' Morgan. How often do vintage Morgans pop up for sale? Do they usually sell for more or less than the modern ones? I would love to get ahold of one.
