Tweaked a couple of things to match this one a little better. Still working on it.

Put the grip screw on opposite side, weatherd the hammer to a nice grey, removed black paint from screw heads, and un-weathered it a bit.

Looks great - Rook did such a great job on those WB's. His replica is as close as I will be able to get to the real thing. I'm not a gun collector and the real WG's, if you find a decent one, are very pricey. More than I could afford at this time for a gun I probably would not fire anyway.

Very nice Ron! I was wondering if anyone else had seen those Propstore pics. :)

You'll notice that most of teh wear happens where you grip the pistol to open it. I also would imagine that the original piece has been reblued, since if you compare the screen caps to this pistol the filmed gun looks a lot more worn. In certain action scenes the finish looks almost gone from the cylinder.

What techniques did you use to clean the heads of the moulded in screws?

Again, very nice job on yours!

Thanks Rook!
A great compliment coming from the master.
For the screws i just used a paperclip and scraped a bit of the paint at the edge of the slot. Once started it came off easily with the round edge of the clip and thumbnail. Went easy so no scratches :) Did the same with the hammer.

Hey Russ! I was admiring my Webley WG the other day (once again) and noticed that the real wear on the grips appears to be on the right side. This means that the original gun must have been handled alot by a lefty. The wear on the grip shows the thumb area worn down and the ring finger and pinky towards the bottom.

I would post pics but I am at work right now so it is hard to show.

What say you?

Um... sure? :D

I'm right handed and honestly haven't fondled, er... handled my real steel
pistol all that much aside from the mould making process. :)

Interesting too that the grip screw is reversed from the Propstore pistol.
Looks like I'll have to revise my design after doing the next set.

It's always something... :)
