What colour for the Indy IV Aldens?
Do you think they used the present 405 brown colour, or made some pairs in a new (old) shade? : If they used the present brown we all own a perfect SA Indy IV pair! Your opinion please!

I guess I never got the impression that Harrison used his own boots for all three movies.Andymac84 wrote:Do you think they do not used Harrison's own Aldens? Which he used in the former movies, too?
I guess I interpreted the story as Harrison suggesting that he use his Aldens at the beginning of Raiders....and then the usual "costuming routine" took place like normal: lots of pairs of boots bought, distressed and used by Harrison and the stuntmen.
It never occurred to me to wonder if Harrison would still be wearing the same pair of Aldens today that he wore 27 years ago when he filmed Raiders.

i'm leaning towards this opinion. if you sand paper standard 405's, you'll ruin the moc toe stitching....beyond what you see here......unless you are reallllllllllly careful. but then again, the shot with the jackets shows all the extra boots as well. i'd hate to be give the job of distressing all those boots and ensuring that the moc toe isn't ruined. i guess it can be done but it'd be easier just to order them in that colour....that is of course, if alden plays ball with the big threeIndiana Strones wrote:I think they ordered some pairs from Alden in a special colour.

If you look at where the upper is stitched to the main body, its not like current Aldens, or at least not mine. The bottom of the piece of leather the laces go through is stitched onto the other part right at the mocc stitching, whereas on my pair it has about 7 mm below it with an extra row of stitching. These seem to be pretty old. Also, it looks kind of like mud on those boots, not just dust.
