Listen. Since I've met you I've nearly been incinerated, drowned, shot
at, and chopped into fish bait. We're caught in the middle of something
sinister here, my guess is dad found out more than he was looking for and until I'm sure, I'm going to continue to do things the way I think they
should be done.

That's what scares me. That's usually when the ground falls out from underneath your feet. Stay here.

Oh, Rats. Give me your torch.

What is it?

I hate snakes, jock I hate 'em.

Are you crazy? Don't go between them.

All I have to do is squeeze.

What do you mean?

I don't know, I'm making this up as I go.

P.S Hee Hee !! Thats just about what happened folks !! I made it ALL up as I went along but it was GREAT FUN to do and I hope you enjoyed the ADVENTURE too !! INDY COW COMP May 2008. See Ya!!

Congrats CD. You really :whip: ed us. Now I can honestly say that ;0 of your new W&G bag from Endicotts!

P.S. I'm not going to be a sore loser, but wasn't the final comp started a little earlier than said? I'm already getting up at the wee hours of the morning to finish the comp and find two submissions already posted.

Well done .I thought at the time I saw this quote it was very clever and 100 % valid for what we were doing at the time !!

Plus if you can remind members re the GUESS THE SIZE OF MY COW comp will finish at 11.30 HRS GMT Friday !! Kev

Heh.

Well, congratulations! I was right about sleeping in, and right about Castor winning. Two out of three ain't bad.

I guess it wouldn't've helped much anyway; looks like Castor's answer was posted here about fourteen minutes before my alarm went off.

Thanks for a good run, guys! It was a fun competition, and a big THANK YOU to Kevin for setting all this up.

Definitely...great competition and a HUGE thanks to Kevin and Erri, for that matter, for being the intermediary. Lots of fun and quite an effort to put this all together.

-I had it Marcus...I had it IN MY HAND!

What happened? Castor?

-Wanna hear about it?

Not at all.

-There's only one place he can sell the bag-Ebay.

Well, that's obviously not what happened and Im joking Castor  . Great work Castor  I had a great time searching for "artifacts" and outwitting most of the contenders on here until that darned story! Im joking. Congrats to the winners...I can only hope that I get the COW right!!!

I (and Kevin) want to thank everybody for participating to this event. I'm happy that all of you had a good time, that was Kevin's main aim. I am sorry if there has been some technical problem with the timing, apologies for that.

So thank you for enjoying this competition and a last reminder for everybody...

GET THAT COW MEASURED

______________for less confusion I repeat what I wrote earlier___________

I would like to remind that the second part of the competition (Guess the size of "the COW") is open to everybody on the forum. Read more here
http://www.endicotts.co.uk/product_info ... cts_id=758

The winner for the second part open to everyone will be announced 24 hours after we know the main winner.

My guess for the hight of the COW is around 2,54 mm, 1 inch or so. Basically, that would be the hight of the cut grass, and that makes for a really small COW (the center of the 'O' considered as being empty space). Now. That would be the Z axis of a coordinate system, with X being the width of the COW and Y being the length.

Hence, my guess for the length, Y axis, is: 8.5*182 = 1547 cm = 609 inches = 50.75 feet.

My guess is also that Erri is 182 cm long.

Congrats, Castor! ;)

High regards,
Swindiana

Now I understand why I cannot play   Hey I don't even know that... but I'll measure myself properly and let you know in the end 8)

I used photoshop for my estimate, but it all depends on how tall he is...and how well I corrected for the distortion.

Well I preferred not to indagate further on about that joke because I was partly in charge of this competition.

Anyway... these are the news from Kevin
And the WINNER IS .......... by a VERY small margin.........SWINDIANA !!

Swindiana guessed 50' 9" (15.46 mts) for my COW and ROBBY T43 guessed 65' 0" (19.81 mts) a difference of only 16" (the length of the DOG in the comp!!) or more accurately 0.41 mts !!

Well done to ANOTHER WINNER in the ENDY Comps. The PRIZES have been picked and will leave the ENDICOTTS EMPORIUM (!) very soon. I will be putting together a comprehensive 'ENDY News' bulletin this weekend with some in-depth reviews as to how this all came about !! Many thanks to all involved, including my good friend ERRI, who has worked incredibly hard throughout the comps, and I'll hopefully catch up with you all very soon.
Plus, give me a few days and our shipment of MKVII's will be ready for sale (once I have cleared our shopful of customers who have been waiting
patiently since the COW Comp started !!). No, seriously we have a fresh
supply of MKVII's and from the middle of next week we will be ready for
action !! Same price structure as previously (except the W&G's will be + 20% as these were 'hooked out' of another supply/ limited quantity only /
competition entrants will have priority). Erri will continue to keep you
updated on my behalf. Once again "THANKS", it has been an absolute pleasure.

Now I'm going to sleep for a week.........kev

Thanks Kevin, Erri, and the rest of the Endicotts team for making this a great and really memorable CoW-perience! ;)

Congrats to Swindiana as well! Did you get both the quote and the estimate? Talk about one-ups-manship!

And for the rest of you guys, that was one heck of a race for the idol... I mean bag! Course, I'm half expecting someone to pull a fast one on me and intercept it at the post office...

The bag arrived today, lightning fast if you ask me.

It's a beautiful 1941 Whiteley's Mk VII bag in an amazing condition.
It has both the waist lanyard and the string for the anti dimming kit intact, the stamp is crisp and clear and the broad arrow is numbered 20-something.

I can't thank Kevin enough. Thank you!

Thanks to Erri, too. ;)

I just love these bags.

Best,

I'll have to echo redsleighdown's comments... That was fast! And the W&G MkVII is definetly a beauty! It has a very vibrant olive color to it, and looks almost like it was just pulled off a really musty production belt! I'll be sure to post pictures as soon as possible!

Hats off to everyone that made this competition what it was: Endicotts, winners, and competitors! This certainly makes my year! ;)

This W&G, courtesy of Kevin Endicott, has found a well deserved place on what I have come to call my 'Wall of Indy', hanging right off the Joe Strain bullwhip's 'rack'. Keeping the original webbing company is a Magnoli KotCS prototype strap, along with my good friend KT Templar's roller buckle! :)
