Will do.

Okay, I have paid for the plaques up to number 26 (ouch.).
They should be here a about a week from Tomorrow (Saturday).
Do those in the first 8 who wanted them (Indiana Max and ThatguyNo.1)want me to hold your guns and ship them with the plaques, or send the guns first and the plaques afterwards?

I'm futher down the list but it would make sense too wait and ship together. Why incur more shipping costs if you don't have too. Rook you already have enough upfront expense into this.

Absolutely!

I got a total of 10 kits in the raw done today (put the last one in the pressure pot about 10 minutes ago)!

I hope to get a few more raw casts done tomorrow before my AL powder runs out and then it's on to the long process of fitting and finishing.

I may make the deadline yet! :D

It "should" as it will be going international Priority Mail. Of course, I don't own the Postal service, so don't quote me on that. :)

Well, after receiveing another FOOT OF SNOW LAST NIGHT (It's April for goodness sake! What's up with this stuff?), I was able to only get 2 more raw castings done today, so we're up to 12 in the raw which will cover #10-21.

I also have a cursed pistol up in the marketplace. :)

Whew. :)

I'm glad you got 'er okay. Did customs even open it up?

Also as a side note, you might want to put a drop of glue on those side bolts to help lock 'er in place when you get it all painted/assembled.

The hole that the release lever bolt goes through is slightly threaded, so take it easy when tightening the bolt. If the release lever is too stiff, give the bolt a 1/4 turn out, or in if too loose.

MR style plaque stands arrived today! yay! Now all we neer are the plaques!

Nope (and I loved your note to the customs people in case they did - "the only way someone could be hurt by this is if they dropped it on their foot" classic)

Everything went together great, just trying to figure out if i want it weathered or new...then I'll put up the pics, though the pics of your paint jobs have already put me to shame

Just take your time. I use Krylon semi-gloss (or Semi-flat if your a pessemist. ;) ) black paint. Two coats. Then after drying for an hour or so, I use a fine grade steel wool to weather. Mainly with regard to weathering, less is more. Sure, I went ape on the prototype (my own personal pistol) but each following pistol I went sparingly. Mainly, highlight the areas that would see wear when putting it into and pulling it out of a holster. The muzzle, sharp edges on the sides of the barel, the edges of the "finger grooves" on the underside of the barrel, the edges of the cylinder, the sharp edges of the release lever, the knurling on the release lever and hammer...

If you need any clearer pictures of the paint job on the ones I've done already I can oblige. I really need to find time to make up an "assembly" and painting manual like I did for the Trigun pistol kits.

The best thing about the weathering is if you do too much... paint over it
and try again!

Remember to use the steel wool and NOT sandpaper to weather! And wet sand the seams with the sandpaper I included. Use the heavy grade to knock down the high points and the finer grade to smooth. Works great!

The very last things I did were to paint the bullets "brass" and the front sight. After the front sight is dry, give it a swipe with a black permanent marker. If it's too dark, lightly swipe it with the steel wool, and just like a real brass sight, the marker lightens right up. :)

Hey Rook,
I was really cool to finally meet you last night at the prop party!!! Man, you have some preti props!! It was cool to see your "MG" up close and personal...I am soooooo happy that I am on the list to get one for myself. :D

Best of luck as you plow through these, I know how much effort is going into each and everyone and I can't wait to get mine.

There is just as much anticipation here as there is for INDY 4 :notworthy:

Cheers!

Talk about cutting it CLOSE!! I went to Louisiana this last weekend to visit Mom for mother's day. I drove back to Houston today and was making such good time I decided to drive straight through. I got home and not 10 minutes after I got in the house the door bell rang. It was the postman with a package that required my signature. Yup you guessed it - it was my #8/27 Webley with plaque from Rook. Had I stopped anywhere on the way home I would have missed the delivery.

Thanks Rook - it is better than I expected. You did a great job!!

I'm taking tomorrow off from work to (duh) work on guns. :)

I hope to finish painting and start assembly.

I'll get you added in on the next update!

Because I'm so close to the end of the second group of guns, I'm now accepting payments for those in the #10 through #21 block.

If you live OUTSIDE the USA I need you to inform me as to how you would like the item described on the customs form (Movie prop/model kit/Live Bengal Tiger, etc.) and what value you would like me to list for it on the same form. Some countries force you to pay import duty fees on items over a certain dollar amount.

Payment information may be found here!

Also, Please be sure to include your board ID with your payment. Makes it easier to figure out who gets credit for the payment. ;)

Thanks!

Russ

Cool, I get paid on thursday but I'm on a trip to Boston tomorrow so I'll send the money on Tuesday if that is alright with you.

Since I live in Canada could you put the same thing you put on Indiana Crowe's package please. Which is something along the lines of marked as a gift and described as 'antique prop/toy gun'

Thank you kindly sir

@Indiana Croft: The Second run will be numbered, just without the simple C.O.W. above it. ETA is looking like sometime in June.

Use somone else's pistol for that purpose! I'm sure you can hit National Tire or Walmart and pick up a nice clear plastic airsoft gun for that. ;)

Okay, here's a money saving possibility for those in the #10-#21 group.

When I was painting and cleaning up the grips, I discovered that I had two relatively minor "defects" in a couple grip frames.

Image

My personal pistol (Proto #0) has the exact same oops. Actually, mine is even bigger than the "big oops" pictured above, cutting halfway into the recessed notch for the hinge bolt. It's mainly hidden by the hinge bolt and side catch, so it's not real noticeable. Ask Minnesota Jones if he noticed it. :)

Here is mine "in the white." You can only see the very edge of the flaw.

Image

Since they're not 100% perfect I'm willing to knock off $10 for whoever wants a pistol with this notch.

Let me know if you're interested.
Thanks!

Only the ones in the first 27 have the C.O.W. added with the number. It was mainly to differentiate between the "limited" guns and the ongoing run. Aside from the C.O.W. designation, there's no difference.

I drink the blood of the Kali from the barrel of every pistol before I assemble it regardless of wether its a "27 run" pistol or "regular"...

Wait, did I say that out loud? :D

Update: One of the two $10 off grips has been spoken for. There's still one left.

Cheers!
