I think I want Aldens, but....

Post by rhboyd »

I totally freaked at the idea of buying mail order shoes. I've recently NEEDED to get orthotics... and am worried about the Aldens taking the orthotic to begin with, but also about the general stability of the shoe... not to mention the fit and the comfort!!!!

I don't suppose there's ANY store in Canada that would carry the shoes... so what ARE my options?!?!

Any input is greatly appreciated....

luv to all,

rhboyd, I have a pair of Aldens, I will admit I was not sure what to expect. I heard many people on here say they are great shoes/boots so I started my first big purchase there. I love my Aldens. The 405's are just great shoes/boots. Going from my tennis shoe to those shoe there is a huge difference in the 405's. I can walk and stand on my 405's for a good while and my feet do not hurt. :D I really like the 405's and I am starting to wear them more and more often. As far as ordering, schmidty612 gets 405's in and has a great deal on them right now. He is up near Chicago which is only a few hours drive for me there. He is offering a great price. I would give him a PM and see what he could do for you. Here is a thread I found on a pair Indy French got from schmidty612: viewtopic.php?t=28212

I don't think there is a place in Canada where you can buy Aldens. :-k I am not sure. Maybe someone from up there can help you on that. I ordered my Aldens from the store in San Francisco and they were very helpful on finding my size from the measurements I gave them and they asked me a few questions and they really nailed the fit. Great people to deal with, very helpful. Well I hope that helps some and good luck on your purchase.

I second the reccomendation of Schmidty. I've bought a pair from him and they were both prompt, cheap and the right size. A+. :junior: -M

I found a place in Listowel called Knapps and they told me that they have Alden 405s in all sizes and told me (a few months back) that they retail for $250. I would check with them and see if it's still true
