Post by Indy_88 »

So I know that the shop SHOULDNT be open till tomorrow but i decided to check it out anyways and I found some pretty cool hats. Im wondering what the fedora experts say about them - yay or nay?

I personally am lookin at either the Crushable Wool
Felt Fedora Hat or the Repellent Wool
Felt Outback Hat

oh that's a big 'ol Nay. The officially licensed hats are okay if you intend to only wear them once in a while, or if you aren't the least bit picky, but if you want a real Indiana Jones fedora you really should go to Akubra, Adventurebilt, Peters Brothers, Keppler, Optimo, Herbert Johnson, etc. :junior: -M

Don't waste your money. Akubra is coming out with a real good hat under 100 dollars.[/code]

And don't forget Keppler. 50/50 blend, bashed the way you want and a great price; $150.00 including shipping. Here's the hat itself.

Believe me the wool hats don't hold a candle to the real thing!!! :)

Has Lee come up with a 50/50 blend? WOW! - I always thought they were somewhere between 5 and 15% beaver content. At least that's what I was told several years ago :?

Anyway, thank you so much Mr. Lucas

I'm not sure if Lee asks Beaver Brand for a special body, but I know it's a blend. But from the BBH website, they state that they don't use Beaver.

Check it out.

You know I got that from someone else not the man himself, so you could be right. I'll have to ask Lee and get back here with the answer from the horse's mouth...

They have a 'Seagrass' hat on there that would make a good yard mowing hat. I wonder if these hats will be sold at the Disney parks shops? I'm going to Disney World the last week of May. If they have them there, I'll just wait and get it there.
