Measurement tutorial?
Is there anyone that lives close to Wested that would be willing to make a short film clip of Peter taking measurements for the Indy jacket and posting it online (with his permission, of course)? I believe this could alleviate some of the doubts and concerns some people may have regarding their measurements. Does anyone else think this is a good idea or have I just been awake too long?

LOL I believe there is. Several users suffer from it on COW unfortunately.afrayedknot wrote:Wow! Is there a record for the number of views without a reply?
I believe Peter won't make something like this because taking measures for a jacket is really pretty simple. It's not like trying to figure out the fit of a pair of Aldens!
The fist suggestion is taking measures from a jacket that you own and you believe it's a good fit.
What is most important is the chest, the length (for screen accuracy) and the sleeve length.
I'm around 36"-37" chest, I've always went for a 38". Consider that the indy jackets are not made for wearing a sweater under it but if you want to do so, keep it in consideration.
The sleeve length... that's a bit harder but not impossible. Again I suggest you to check a jacket that you own and that has a correct lentgh of the sleeves.
As a medical student and keen about precise measure... my anatomic reference and suggestion for the sleeve-length is to start measuring from the acromion (the most prominent and easy-to-find bone sticking out from the side of your shoulder) and go down to the knuckles or just above.

True. It was done before, but Peter went ballistic as what worked for the writers didn't cover all the nuances that change from individual to individual when it comes to ordering a custom jacket.
Best and easiest thing to do is supply them with your measurements as requested on the order page, then create a one to one relationship with the jacket maker so they know what YOU need on your order.
There's no 'one plan fits all' in the world of the jacket order, I'm afraid.
