An Indy / non-Indy Fedora hybrid... (pics)
Hey all,
one of my customers - a gentleman with several hundred hats - asked me to make an open crown hat for him, with the flying-V and everything else that makes a hat an Indy Fedora, except for the dim. cut on the brim. Open crown, as he likes to put in a personal crease - non Indy. So it's a non-Indy / Indy hybrid, sort of.
He finally received it yesterday and creased it the way he preferes it. Here are a few pics:
Hand sewn, of course:
The color is a deep burgundy, in opposite of pink, but you know how a flash can wash out the colors:
Again, I'd appreciate your honest opinion, good and bad.
Regards,
Marc

I think it looks great, and the wearer certainly carries off the attitude in a way that works with that look. I've lately been re-watching the Thin Man movies, and he looks like could have just walked off the set ("Yeah, Nick sent me up the river a few years back...")
One of things about an unbashed Raiders blocked fedora is the way you can get so many 30s and 40s style bashes out of them that give it a very classic look.
Very nice!

Nice, but that's how I've been wearing my dark gray AB for the past year or more, so he's coming in a bit late with his new 'style'.
The only real difference is I had Steve install a 1/2 inch gray western style ribbon on mine instead of the standard ribbon.
Needless to say, I like it, but then I'm bias.
