First AB Deluxe in the USA has arrived ! New Pics

Post by G-MANN »

Well folks, I am the proud owner of the VERY FIRST AB DELUXE in the USA. Marc made a true work of art for me.

OK,

Here are a couple of pictures of one AMAZING hat. You can see what a FANTASTIC job Marc did making this Fedora. I received it open crowned and this is such soft wonderful felt, it is so easy to put a great bash in with almost no effort at all. I spent less than a minute to achieve this look. The Beaver Marc is using is a beautiful color. His pouncing job is as close to perfect as I could imagine.

I am sold on the AB DELUXE for certain. 100%.

I'm not an AB guy but I was curious...what is the difference in one of these and Steve's fedoras? They are both AB's so is there any difference at all besides who made them?

Marc uses a more expensive and I beleive higher quality of Beaver from portugal, also a softer sweatband and a layer of onionskin between the sweat and the felt for protection. Marc will be back tommorrow and can give you more specific info.

My understanding is that Marc is using a different felt and sweatband than Steve.

Agent, he uses the company that Graham uses for the felt. The pure beaver felt from portugal. I think Graham gets 650 for his beaver hat. Marc had his sweats custom made too, and they look more like jacket leather than sweat leather. A good thing. I wish I could afford to use them, but they cost as much as some hat bodies.

Marc's felt costs him more than mine does me, partly due to the tax structure over there, and partly because he pays for custom stiffening. Fedora

That's a good lookin lid G-Mann. I see it already saw a little rain. Well, there was plenty of opportunity to see how rain would affect our lids this past weekend in Chicago.

Hey John!

Nice to see, the hat has reached you and you're also satisfied with your ABD! Congratulations, No.2   !

It looks awesome and I'm glad you posted your pics, so I can see it shaped with a turn, which looks very, very good! Suits you well, John!
