The jacket looks really nice. Can you already order it from Wested or is it still a prototype?

I saw this on the forbidden site as well. Pretty accurate, with the exception of a couple details....

Screen used comparison pics?

Now would be a good time to let them know if it's an important change. Get in on the ground floor and all!

There's supposed to be a pic of the jacket in the first post.

Already been established that Belstaff made the jackets for the movie. Peter's looks very nice though, and it's $1100 less. K

I have no defense. I've been watching for Wested's version of his jacket like a hawk.

So Wested just decided to make a replica of this jacket, and didn't actually make any for the film? I wasn't aware that they did things like that. You got it right, though. The price sure is better!

Their Lethal Weapon 4 jacket is a replica. The original is an off the rack Tommy Hilfiger. I've had two of these including the screen used one I have now(thanks Indiana James). Also, their Minority Report jacket is a replica per Peter. Some are convinced that he made the one for the movie though. I'm not sure about the others on the site. K

It's just eBay. You can't post live auctions unless they're your own. Don't want to run up the prices for someone who may be bidding. These jackets are buy-it-nows though do their's no harm in saying it out loud. K

Oh ok. Thanks Kittlemeier.

Does this mean there are other replicas of other jackets being sold by wested on ebay? I've always wanted to check out what else they have for offer. Such as maybe the doctor who jacket?

I have an authentic lamb Raiders (80's fit) from Wested that I absolutely love; it's perfect in every regard.

I'm going to order a WotW jacket from Wested next. Has anyone ordered one and, if so, do you have any ordering tips or observations about the jacket?

Thanks.

Thanks for the welcome, VP.

Back when I was ordering my Raiders, I read your post in which you chronicled the planning, ordering, and waiting for your jacket; you then photographed receiving, opening, and finally putting it on. It's your post that convinced me to order a right-hand zipper. (It also showed me that the jacket does not come shipped in a box but in a bag.)

As much as I love my Raiders jacket, I really dig the Belstaff Hero jacket from War of the Worlds. And while I could probably swing the $1,300 for the real thing, I really rather not. (I'd rather buy a laptop for that much money. Or at least half of a MacBook. Or even better, save the money.) Besides, the Raiders jacket tends to limit the color spectrum of my wardrobe to the point that female co-workers have nicknamed me "Banana Republic." (Ironically enough, the only piece of Banana Republic clothing I own is a pair of ten-year-old fleece sweatpants.)

Anyway, this is a great forum. Reading everyone's posts made the planning and ordering my jacket almost as fun as actually wearing it.

I ordered mine on the 10th, and Wested stated that there's a 10 working day wait period (while the jacket is made) for these -- today's day 10, so I'm hoping it will ship at the beginning of next week. As soon as I have it I can post pictures and a review (if the admin do not want this, seeing as how it's off-topic, I can PM you with details if you like).

Judging from the pictures on eBay, the only part of the jacket that I can see that is not screen accurate is the vertical seam down the middle of the back. Other than that, I'll have to wait for the jacket to be sure about anything else.

Also take a look at the left side of the collar, Wested has it wrong. I had a heck of a time figuring this out. The snap twists around and snaps, very odd, but unigue! Also the faux raglan sleeve is a rolled seam upward....

I see what you mean about the collar. However, I think wested's version is simply rotated to be horizontal -- if it's a circular press stud, it will be able to rotate in such a fashion that the leather strap itself would be pointed more downward, like in the pictures you posted.

I'll confirm this once I receive the jacket.

I think the snap (on the Wested) is just rotated a quarter turn anti clockwise, rotate it clockwise a quarter and it should be the same.

The raglan sleeve confuses me sttill can you post an image to clarify please?

One thing i did point out to Wested is: In the movie jacket, the pockets zip closed so the pulls are at the top, these seem to be at the bottom.

Flattery and KT, I believe you are correct on the Wested collar, it just needs rotated. Indy James, what leather is your jacket? Cowhide?

I'd also like to see what you mean about the raglan sleeve.

I have the Belstaff version and just ordered a Wested. Just a few differences but I assume the interior will be very different. The collar is different and it is not just a matter of swivelling the Wested tab. Below are pics of my Belstaff.

Manits the is a great looking jacket. Too bad it's waaaay out of my price range.

Take a look at this pic, it's a right handed zipper, I think, but what's with all the hardware?? (Universal zipper maybe?)

The color looks really nice, Mantis. Is it a reddish tone, as it appears on my moniter?? Also, what type of leather is it?

It is a dark brown...almost antiqued. Pics made it look more reddish than it is.

Wow that IS nice....
Texas, my jacket is 3oz cowhide, very thick. But it distressed nicely. From seeing that shot mantis posted, I really need to get my sleeves narrowed down a bit!

Cheers

Indiana James, is that a Wested version you have? If so what is the lining like? Can you take more shots of your jacket....

The sleeve cut on the Belstaff are strange and I hope Wested captures it...hugs the arm then flares out at the wrists...almost like bell bottom pants but on a jacket...

What size did you get and what size jacket do you normally take? I am hoping they made them snug like in the movie and not baggy.

Replicas of the t-shirts and sweatshirt he wore can be found at target...look for Cherokee brand then wash the grey and green ones to death!

I think this can be attributed to the zippered cuffs (the zippered sleeves on a jacket of mine have this exact shape if I zip them halfway and hang the jacket on a hanger), but it's quite possible that Belstaff gave them a little more taper. It's extremely hard to tell whether the Wested jacket sleeves will do this -- they are zippered, but the pictures don't show any tapering, probably because their jacket is lambskin and hangs differently.

EDIT:
You can see this effect slightly on the right sleeve in this pic of Wested's jacket.

Ok, folks, we've let this one run it's course, as this is not a WofW gear site, and we only let this stay this long because it was Wested related. It's gone way beyond that when the tee shirt questions came up, so it's time to close this out.
You folks can continue your conversation via PM or a related WofW website.

Regards! Michaelson
