As I was ordering the holster from Todd I thought well if the rivets are what can scratch the gun why not just stitch it up myself? So I asked Todd if he could just send me the parts so I could do this myself! Todd doing some great customer service said of course and even gave me a scrap of leather for the plug on the bottom. So I used some leather tools (over stitcher, and groover) put it together and got a great holster! Here are some pictures
I was curious to see how you got such a straight line, I have an old set of leather tools and my groover is a wooden hammer and a metal hand groover, looks like i should update...thanks
Is the holster you made yourself the basic holster with modifications? Or is it the deluxe holster? Also did you ask him to send it to you apart in the order form? Just curious so I can try this myself.
Yes this is the holster I made from Todd's leather. I asked him to send it to me apart I called him and asked him to send it in parts. Then I just made the bottom plug from a scrap Todd gave me. The oversticher really made the job easy I just used an awl to punch out the holes then a leather needle to string it together...If you or anyone else wants help just pm me or I’ll write up a tutorial if you want
Can you use an awl on this or would a needle be easier? Are there any good websites that get into detail as far as stitching leather goods? I'd really like to stitch in my barrel plug but dn't wanna screw it up.
