The"Actual" Indy Hat!?!?!?

Post by Kaleponi Craig »

I was in Santa Barbara over the weekend and on Saturday walked into this leather shop, wearing my Adventurebilt. The owner remarked on what a nice hat I had and since I saw she sold hats told her a little about the Adventurebilt. She then told me that she had an Indiana Jones hat, too, in fact she had the 'actual' hat they used in the movie. She showed me the wool Indy hat with the little Indiana Jones pin on the side, you guys know the one. It was so awful...crappy wool hat, very tapered and of course the bash was rediculous. She had no clue...and she sold hats!

On a better note, another hat seller in town was really taken by my AB, in fact wanted information on the hat, so I gave him Fedora's website address. Even though he sold crappy Stetsons and Dobbs hats (my, have those companies gone downhill), he still knew a good hat when he saw one...KC

The "actual hat" that they used in the movie for $39.95? Imagine that, I would have thought that it would have gone for thousands more! #-o

I especially like Willie's expression of horror over Indy's hat. She clearly is not a fan of the Dorfman, either.

Wow lady, do you think Indiana Jones would have worn a hat with his name pinned on the outside in the same font as the movie poster??

I'm probably an idiot, but why do we refer to the hat as the "Dorfman?" Always been curious about that...

The "officially licensed Indiana Jones hat" as licensed by LucasFilm and sold by Disney and thousands of retailers worldwide is made by Dorfman Pacific. It even comes with an "official" little Indiana Jones pin on the ribbon.
