That is possibly the best looking Fed I've seen. If you had said it was an AB I would have taken it hook line and sinker. 8)

Where in Mexico?
Entered via San Diego
Flew into Mexico City
Bus up to Taxco, back to Mexico
Flew to Puerta Vallarta
Bus toMazatlan,bus to Los Mochis
Train to Creel ( where the pics are )
Bus to Chihuaha
Bus to Juarez and then back into the states thru El Passo
Bus to LA plane to Melbourne
sleep sleep
work
Thanks for the kind words, the plan was to get an AB for the trip ( i felt my the optimos may have been too fragile ) but the AB will have to wait un til March ( Birthday )
The Federation in the pic is at least 3 years old and has been knocked about,i had it reblocked in Chihuaha for $10 US and it looks even better now.

Wow! How did this get by me? Awesome photos! I love the aviators, and you hat looks good. Fedoras go well with equines. We're seeing more and more GearHeads on horseback.

BTW, I'll be in Mexico in two weeks!

That's what the Fed. Deluxe looks like? Wow! I really like that hat. How long ago did you buy it? The reason I ask this is because I was wondering if over time the company changes the way the make their hats because I've read some people complain that the hat has a greenish hue to it. The color of your hat in the photos looks spot on.

Mmmm....Maybe next year I'll get one of these.

That's just with the regular one. Mine's 20 months old and it's still dark brown.

So I should skip getting the Regular Fed. and go straight to the Deluxe?

Ha! :)

Yeah, I wish I could. Why would the cheaper version have the better liner?

@ VP: I always thought the Deluxe Liner looks better, so I think It's again a question of the own taste!

Is there a thread around here that has shots of what both the liners look like so I could compare the two?

Both of them look nice in my opinion. I would still probably buy the Deluxe if I get one though. The impression that I got from people on here is the darn thing is near bullet proof!

It really is, I cannot recommend this hat enough as a beater hat; it has an excellent indy fedora look, and it's designed to be used and abused in most climates; not a hat to sit on the shelf and occasionally taken out for formal occasions, it's a hat for sweat and weather and hard use, and it just gets tougher looking the more action it sees!
