Magnoli Pants: NEW MATERIAL OPTION!
I've finally finished my first pair of tailored "Adventure Pants". At the moment I'll be offering these in a wool blend in seven colors ("mocha" being the most screen-accurate) for $95 (world-wide shipping included).
I'm looking into getting some other heavier materials and will post any news to that effect in this thread.

Kind regards,
Indy

There is a measurement called the U-Crotch where you measure from the top of the waistband in the front to the top of the waistband in the back.Ghos7a55assin wrote:The crotch also looks too short (the rise is too low).
One thing to be mindful of is the U-Crotch measurement will alter your inseam measurement some.

I like the fact your pants are the first ones I've seen yet that have "lowered" the rear pockets. The MBAs and Wested pants I have have "regular" placed pockets. But in the movies the pockets always seemed lower to me. Your version seems very accurate to me.

I'm generally impressed with your output of artifacts and clothes.
I've always loved the look of the suits from the era you portray. Up till, I stopped teaching full time, in 2001, I always wore braces. Most of my sport coats had bi-swing backs. These were perfect for writing on the chalk board.
Now my good trousers won't suspend, so no use in wearing the braces.
Keep up that wonderful work. Even if I can't have many of the items, I love the" eye candy".
Regards,
Prof. Ed

Yes, I'll look into some heavier material options.
Regarding the fit, here are some stills that inclined me to a trim pair of pants (thanks to VP for the pics):
They don't look at all "baggy" by modern standards. In any case, each pair is tailor made, so you can get them how you like...
Kind regards,
indy

If anyone is interested in the above pants (the ones actually shown in the picture), I'm selling these for only $80 (international shipping included). This is over 15% off the regular price. So, if you have a 31" waist and 32" inseam, this is a great deal. E-mail or PM me for more details.
Kind regards,
Indy

I've just added the option of 100% cotton for these pants. Unfortunately, there are only four colours that are similar to the Raiders pants, but none just right, in my opinion:
Stone, Camel, Golden Rod, Dark Camel
Golden Rod looks too, well, golden and Dark Camel a bit too dark. When I get some extra cash I may try a pair for myself in "Dark Camel" as it is quite a nice colour (it reminds me of the pants in the classic Raiders poster).
I'm trying get this material in other colors. It's a heavier weight (12 oz.) fabric, and should lend itself well to "adventure" wear.
Kind regards,
Indy

I just had a revelation... I was wearing my Marshall suit the other day, and while sitting down looking at the pants, I though to myself, "this material would work for the Indy Pants!" So I looked to see what colours were available and "dark khaki" looks pretty screen accurate.
So, although I haven't added it to my site yet, I can make my "Adventure Pants" in a Medium Weight Blend Wool Cashmere which is still a 10 oz material, but has a heavier twill pattern to it than the 120s Merino. Here is a scan of some swatches (the middle color is the "dark khaki"):
The pants will still be the same price with this material.
Kind regards,
Indy

Thats right Magnoli,
I just bought a pair and for me they are the right type of fabric. There is a big difference in the weight and thickness from the offering of Wested and MBA, but all this sums up to the personal taste and confort of each individual.
I live in the tropics, so it is Very Hot most of the year. Practically a 9 month summer. The Westeds would be to hot to wear in July and August for sure. I can already feel the sweat running down my legs next summer if I wear the Westeds in a hot day. Remember that a movie and reality are two different things.
Sometimes it's too hot to wear Wested pants. The Magnoli 120's can adapt more to diverse weathers.
Erich.

I have one pair of "adventure pants" with a 31" waist and 32" inseam in the Merino 120s mocha seen below:
I've got only one pair of these in the above measurements for the special price of $69 (that's over 25% off the regular price). International shipping is included in the price. If you're interested send me an e-mail or PM. Payment by Paypal only.
Kind regards,
Indy

For those of you with deeper pockets, I've just sourced some beautiful 100% English Wool in a perfect colour for my "Adventure Pants". It's slightly heavier than the 120s Merino (11oz vs. 10oz). It's also double the price of the 120s, making the pants $175 instead of $95 (s/h included). The colour is a bit darker then the "mocha" of the 120s and a very rich colour that I think is extremely screen accurate.
Kind regards,
Indy

Just for reference -- which of the English wool colors would be a "Raiders" color, do you think?

FABRIC NEWS:
The 120s Merino is no longer available from my suppliers in mocha, so I'm switching to a new fabric. The new fabric is a wool blend (85% wool 15% synthetic) in a 10 Oz. weight. It has a slightly coarser weave to it which gives it a much more vintage look. The weight is technically the same as the 120s Merino, but it looks and feels like a heavier fabric to me. The best color for the Raiders look is "dark khaki" which is a tad darker than the mocha was.
Here is a picture of the other colors:
The colors from left to right are: Light Bluish Grey, Beige, Camel, Dark Khaki, Medium Brown, Chocolate Brown
Both the pure cotton and pure wool fabrics are still available as well.
Kind regards,
Indy

I know there are some people who obsess about the back pocket flaps and I would probably count myself among them. I was wondering how come, from the pics on the main page's section for the pants, the flaps look longer than on any of the replicas I have seen. I think it just has to do with the placement of the button on the back pockets. Could some one clear this up for me?
