Me too! I enjoy reading the pros and cons of the various pieces of gear. I think it brings the vendors and our hobby to a higher level.

The current offering looks really good. I was planning on getting a Wested shirt but this being customized puts it a step higher than the Wested. Having the correct neck, sleeve and back length is important in a shirt. I cannot wait to read those first reviews.

I am sure you will love it! In my opinion the Wested jacket and pants are great. I think the shirt will be no less great. Everyone's opinion in gear will differ a bit. I see nothing wrong with 98% screen accurate.

Thanks for all the kind words! Now a few answers... the epaulettes will be changed slightly on the next shirt (longer and without the box stitch). Again, I'll see if I can get some pictures posted when the light gets better. I'd estimate production time to be about two weeks from time of payment. Shipping should then take under a week (depending where in the world you are).

Kind regards,
Indy

How wrong I was! ](*,) I just thought the mannequin was left-handed...

That is a beautiful shirt, Indy Magnoli, sir. When I get the itch to get something more accurate, that will likely be it. Custom measurements...WOW! (I have 'odd' measurements...my Mommy says I'm just special). ;)

Beautiful!

You're right, on the screen shirt, the epaulette almost touches the collar...and it's NOT pointed, it's straight at the end.

Can't wait to see...and order...the revised shirt! :D

By the way, I'm not trying to convince anyone that "stone" is the closest to screen accurate. "Cream" may be better for those who want the whiter, more washed-out, re-dyed look...

You drink you Cuervo Gold a shade paler than it's bottled? Hey, me too!

IM, if that 'stone' is about the shade I think it is, it's a great color. I really don't think the yellowish tone belongs. (Unless you've been watching ROTLA on VHS.)

In some indoor lighting the "stone" can have a green-ish tint to it. Ah... the color debate!

I think I like the Ecru the best. To my eyes Indy's shirt was never "stone", "khaki" or any other color it's been called. To me it's a WHITE shirt that's simply old, worn and lack-luster. MAYBE an extremely light shade of gray. But the examples I've seen over the years in Indy shirt colors (and there have been many) have never really captured it. I think Magnoli has done a great job with the fabric choices. Now everybody can get what they want!

Great job Magnoli! The best thing about this is the customisability factor - a great way to avoid the colour debate especially by offering a range of colours depending on preference. I think this shirt will be a big hit!

Nice looking shirt IM! For the custom sizes alone I would buy this shirt.

I was wondering about the pleats (the extra material running lengthwise down the shirt). From your photos it looks like the pleats are sewn on both edges to the shirt. I thought that the pleats on the screen looked like they were not completely sewn down. I thought this engendered a wrinkling of the pleats as seen on screen.

Its probably more practical though and will stop the pleats puckering when washed.

I think they still might pucker to your satisfaction. If you look at the picture Indy Magnoli posted of him wearing the shirt you can see some puckering to the pleats.

I think the color and custom sizing options are going to make a lot of gearheads happy!

I am thinking of getting one for my 11 yr. old son! :)

Indy,

Will you change the button colors depending on the fabric color? It's kinda funny, and I'm sure a trick of the lighting, but in the indoor pics, the buttons look to match the material, where on the outdoor pics they look stark white. Not a critique... just pondering.

I'm working on changing the buttons right now. The thing I wanted to avoid was the tortoise-shell buttons that we see on so many store brand shirts. I'll keep you posted.

Where do you find the time? Great Job and at a good price.

Question:

I'm interested in LC shirt - which color is most accurate?

That's the colour debate I'd like to stay away from... as Rick Blaine would say "Indy, when it comes to color, you're a true Democrat!" But, if I have to make a stand... I'd recommend "stone" for LC and perhaps "cream" or "ecru" for the lighter Cairo look.

Kind regards,
Indy

Give the man a cigar! ;)

But seriously... the pen pocket is a separate pocket within the main breast pocket, so no extra stitch is necessary. I prefer the way it looks and functions. It looks much more professional. So if it's just a matter of screen accuracy for you, I can have an extra stitch put in.

Magnoli, this may seem a bit off topic but I was wondering if it could be possible for you to make a Cairo Marion shirt possibly in the future? I'm sure a few members here including myself would want one. My girlfriend has been looking for one for quite a while, so I'm trying to get one for her.

Marion's embroidered shirt looks very complicated to reproduce.
Colby- have you looked in stores in your area?
I have seen very similar looking shirts in Indian clothing stores.
It might not be exact but you can find a really close version.

Can any one get a grab of Indy when he runs into the market-place looking for Marion (in the basket) The camera pulles close to him and there is a great shot of the left shoulder. You can see that the epaulete is round.

I've looked around some but the selection is limited in my area. :? I just figured if anyone could replicate that shirt I bet Magnoli could! I wanted to try to get the best for her. My girlfriend even got her hair cut exactly like Marions so she would be screen accurate and we could match. She didn't do it for Halloween or anything either! :D

It shouldn't be a problem to make any small detail changes on each individual shirt, as they are custom tailored to the customer. So, if you want rounded, cut-off, square, or contrasting bright pink epaulettes, we can provide.

Now for the bad news... I'm in the process of doing McFly's shirt, and have come across more work/costs than anticipated. So the price will have to be pushed up to $79. This bugs the heck out of me, as I was happy to keep the price as low as I had, but c'est la vie. Please remember though that international shipping is included in the price.

Kind regards,
Indy
