New site updates at Pecard.com!
Forgive me if this is old news but I just discovered it. I was over at http://www.pecard.com and they now have a link called "IndyGear Fans!" This link takes you to a special page that shows the proper dressing for the jacket, boots, whip, etc. So if you are not sure what to put on your lamb Wested you just go to the jacket section and can click to buy right there! No more guess work!
Way to go Pecards!

Can you clear something up for me Michaelson, once and for all? Are the regular leather lotion and the motorcycle leather lotion one and the same? Or is there some slight difference? And if there is a difference, the motorcycle leather lotion is the one to use on my lambskin FS, right? Thanks, my friend.
Regards--Maryon
PS--HJS ordered a huge tub (1 lb.) of leather dressing the other day. I think our whips will be well-cared for for quite some time!

The lambtouch is cowhide so you would recommend the oil-based lotion for the pre-distressed cowhide was well? It would seem to me the oil-based lotion would water-proof the jacket (so to speak), correct? Just curious b/c I going to be ordering a tub soon and want to get the right thing.Michaelson wrote:The lotion, as the lambtouch should not have standard dressing applied. It's oil based, and will add quite a bit of physical weight to the leather. Regards. Michaelson

The lambtouch cowhide is EXTREMELY lightweight, and just a bit heavier than lambskin. You could indeed use standard dressing, but personally I'd recommend (and have used) the water based lotion on it, as it cleans and conditions the leather, but doesn't add that addition physical weight that the standard dressing does. Pecards availability
After visiting Pecards website, it mentioned that it also sold it's products under the "Red Wing Shoes" label. So, I checked out my local Red Wing Shoe store and sure enough, they carry the Pecards leather dressings. It has a "Red Wing" label on it, but seems to be the same stuff. A jar of the mid-brown dressing was $2.95 and a large tub of the regular leather dressing/conditioner was only $5.95. Saves a bit on the shipping.

Two years dead, but after a bunch of searching, I'd like to revive this thread, please and thank you.
Can we have this new link (below) added to the IndyGear main page somewhere? Not sure how long it's been out there, but I couldn't find it searching, and the main page takes me somewhere on Pecards tailored to IndyGear, but not as good as their NEW IndyGear page!
I know the FAQs include discussions of which to use, and the Contacts: Pecards page links you to a very informative discussion page w/ some product listings (http://www.pecard.com/IndyGear.htm), but this direct page includes very specific discussion on a per-leather-item basis right next to the pull-downs w/ leather-care products named for the very items they protect.
Gosh, that would make a lot of 'which pecards to use' questions OBSOLETE.
Want to see the page I'm talking about? Well, you can click 'Indy Gear Fans!' in the left margin of the Pecards main page, but just, this is *currently* the link:
http://www.pecard.com/en-us/dept_13.html

P.S. I know this thread is old, but just to be clear - the Pecards site DOES say it accepts PayPal now.

Until the update, I'm not sure what else we can do besides do what we've already done, Jerry. The 'let's clear some things up' post at the very top of this section, written by Leather_Loco, and locked as an 'sticky' DOES have the current link to the Pecards.com site. It's more than just a FAQ. It's a conduit directly TO Pecards.
It will be added to the links area as things develop, but until that's done, I'm not sure what else can be done.
Regards! Michaelson

I'm in the need for a refill on the "Pecards Jell/Cream" for my Goatskin jackets.
However, I can't seem to find the ordering link on their website for it. I'm probably just missing it, and it's probably right in front of me, but can anyone direct me to the Pecards Jell/Cream ordering link?
Thank you!
Captain D

Argh...see, I knew I was forgetting to look somewhere. Seems like we have an excess of magic places to look. Not a complaint, an observation. I know it is meant as a way of making sure the information is available until the update is completed. Which I will continue waiting for patiently.Michaelson wrote:Until the update, I'm not sure what else we can do besides do what we've already done, Jerry. Go to the Pecards site. Scroll the left side bar down to 'Leather Dressing Pastes', click on that, then scroll down that page to 'Jell dress', second item from the bottom of the page.Captain D wrote:I'm in the need for a refill on the "Pecards Jell/Cream" for my Goatskin jackets.
