Akubra Bushman (still available?)

Post by Doug C »

Thought I read that they were no longer available, but maybe it was just the featherweight ones, anyone know where's the cheapest place to get one on-line? Have any pics of one?

Yates Menswear (yatesmenswear.com.au) has Bushman featherweights in stock for $83 USD. They don't show a picture on their stocklist). I believe the colours they have are Deep Fawn and Grey. Greg Grant Saddlery used to have them, but they temporarily have gone off online.

David Morgan also has the Bushman for $98. The color he has is Nullarbor Tan (a dark beige). :)

Yes, it was the 'Featherweight' that was discontinued many years ago. Regards! Michaelson

Dude, you've been ruining my searches for the last half hour because of your screen name :D ..I type in Bushman and get you talking about some obscure something or another. Just kidding, but I really do appreciate the info. The Davidmorgan site has them but only advertises the one color and while the picture looks great, they advertise it as being a dark beige which sounds kind of ugly to me. I'll check the sites that you mentioned, Thanks!

Actually my statement was directed to MR.BUSHMAN not you Michaelson :P . Thanks for the info everyone, just wish I could come up with a picture or two of someone actually wearing one.. hats are easier to assess (the looks of) that way. But nothing, even when I googled it.

Well.... my statement still stands. (grins)

You want to see one of the old featherweight Bushman? Go to the main Indygear page, click on 'gear', then 'fedora' in the side bar, then the Akubra listing. You'll see several photos of the Bushman we were experimenting with back in the day. The one shown is one of three that _, Fedora, and I had.

Check this out, Art may still have this hat in storage. At present he's building a new hat shop and house in Medford Oregon, so he may not be able to get it for you for a while.
