Update on the liner. Please read the first post...
Hey gang!
I've been offered an extraordinary quality liner from a different supplier. Their bridal satin is EXTREMELY close to silk in both look and feel, yet it has the advantage over silk to keep the shape better and be more resistant against sweat and dirt.
I must honestly say that this material made this old fan drool and it didn't take long time to convince me, that this is what I'm after.
So much for the pros.... The cons on this are as follows: I won't be able to offer an invory colored liner from this supplier, as the price would just go way through the roof and I need to keep the final price affordable somehow. So they'll be straigh white with a silky shine and even though I personally would have liked the invory color even more, I can't let this quality pass, now that I have acces to it. To get a little more HJ-Flair to it, I agreed to the suggestion of some European fans, to make the logo gold and burgundy colored. So the lines you've seen on the announcement thread will be kept in gold, while the white spaces in between will be filled up with the burgundy color as seen on the HJ crest. Before you start yelling at me: I didn't like the idea at all at the begin with, but the graphic design from Tom convinced me and tought me better. It looks SUPERB! The golden lines are MUCH better visible with the burgundy background and the burgundy color adds so much style to the entire liner. Trust me on this one. It WILL look great!
As for the question, if you can have ONLY the HP without the script on this bridal satin.... no. Unfortunately not. It'll cost me 300$ just to have the dyes made for the two color version and I don't have plans to spend another 150$ to copy Steve's current design (unless of course someone is willing to pay this, plus the 20 dozen minimum order - which I doubt).
So much for now!
Regards,
Marc

On the German Indiana Jones forum, it was suggested to have a snow white liner with the logo in burgundy like on the HJ... What do you think of that?
Oh, and just to give you a little more to think about: the crest on the Raiders hats was NOT the oval crest as seen in LC, but that five sided one as in Anjala's HJ...

Its an interesting thought but I dont think we should seek to emulate HJ.Marc wrote:On the German Indiana Jones forum, it was suggested to have a snow white liner with the logo in burgundy like on the HJ... What do you think of that?

Thank you for offering us many possibilities Marc, i personally would like to have a "classic" hat style liner so every old man watching inside my AB would think .... that's a gentleman hat!Marc wrote:Good point. But after all it'll be a fan made hat for the fans, and I just wanted to point out the possibilities...

Marc
I dont care if you take inspiration from HJ or others. The actual liner is cool i think. I dont feel i could suggest something because i've never owened a hat before my AB so i leave decision to hatters and all the others

Plain old classic white.
& you might want to consider some of your liner stock without the plastic protective bit for strange people like me that sweat in their hats alot while doing active stuff (as left <--- ). Nothing like having your own sweat condensation trap in your hat...ewww...
Oh, & I'm a stickler for being against change, so will the liners be available with just the Headpiece logo & no writing?
